Tommo, your passionate responses may look convincing to those that are not aware of the facts, but however you present your argument all commentators remark that Scotland would be far worse off as an independent country, not least because during the period between 2014/15 and 2019/20 spending per person in Scotland was £1,550 (or 12.3%) higher than the UK average, while tax revenues were £325 (or 2.8%) lower per person. In other words you are not living within your means and the English tax payer has to fund the difference, it is noticeable that despite the rhetoric neither the SNP nor AliBaBa have made any moves whatsoever to achieve independence, why might that be do you think?

In other words you are not living within your means and the English tax payer has to fund the difference, it is noticeable that despite the rhetoric neither the SNP nor AliBaBa have made any moves whatsoever to achieve independence, why might that be do you think? Former chancellor Denis Healy famously stated in an interview that scotland more than currently pays its fair share in the uk , and the myths about being too wee too poor and too stupid to be independent were simply perpetuated by those who oppose scotland leaving the uk.
based on what ommy? The fantasy GERS accounts?
scotland has everything it takes to be a highly succesfull independenct nation. We have under 9 % of the uk popualtion , but almost 34 % of its natural wealth.
This prompts the question – why does a naturally wealthy nation with a strong, resilient and diverse onshore economy, booming exports, a highly educated population, low unemployment, a wealth of oil and renewables, and a wide range of strong economic sectors have a set of accounts (GERS) that suggest that Scotland’s finances are weak? That is a trick question, it doesn’t. GERS is not a set of accounts for spending in Scotland; it contains spending outside of Scotland that doesn’t benefit Scotland’s economy and that Scotland didn’t generate. GERS also contains clear evidence of mechanisms for removing wealth from Scotland’s accounts which then creates a phoney deficit. There are actually several hidden mechanisms for stealthily removing Scotland’s wealth.

If you believe you were engaging with Happyjack on any actual political level then it's no wonder your leaders are being carted off down to the nick.

In other words you are not living within your means and the English tax payer has to fund the difference, om. the english taxpayer doesnt fund any difference. The opposite in the case. The scottish taxpayer has to fund english projects like hs2 , or london crossrail and much else , while paying billions of england debt interest .
The snp all my life have called for fiscal independence for scotland. You keep your money we keep ours , but your current and past governments wont do it.
Remember , your country famously told the indians of the subcontinent for 200 years they were too wee too poor and too stupid to be independent. While they cooked indias books with the indian versin of GERS.
the famous indian economist utsa patnaik worked out far from india being too wee to be independent and english taxpayers footing the difference in their bills , the opposite was the truth and that the british stole £45 trillion across 2 centuries.
its laughable fantasy to suggest a country that has raped pillaged and stole from a third of the world is subsidising us or anyone else.

Scotland still has a capital S whilst in the UK.
You haven't commented on my point about the SNP and the AliBaBa party not pursuing independence, is it-
(a) because they know it will be a disaster, or (b) because they don't know where to start, or (c) because they are quite happy sitting back and misappropriating all your money.
Or all three?

Or all three? What do you mean alba are not pursuing independence? Havent you seen alba party candidates going round mustering protests , marches , salmond and the likes of sillars giving off many interviews and speeches , trying their best to galvinise a united pro indy majority to puch for indy?
You really must question your news sources ommy.
The snp at present are to me anyway self explanatory. The suspicions has been growing for the last 8 years sturgeon for whatever reason was blocking or holding back the indy movement , and i think with recent events this year that has more or less been confirmed . The full reason behind why is yet unknown , and subject to more speculation.
The decoupling of the snp with the indy movement must carry on , and it is. Useless is self explanatory , as the continuity candidate within the snp .
We go back though to what io told you yesrterday that still today you either
1. dont understand
2. refuse to admit or achnowledge.
That is , however bad the snp get , scot indy suporters , like northern irish nationalists , arent going to vote brit parties.
At best you are stalling the end of the union for a few more years.
All that shit thrown at the snp , claim and counter claims , finger pointing rightly or wrongly and the unions best hope in scotland , labour , still cant poll a majority. Must be a worry mate.

How effective have they been, I mean, you are still in the Union with absolutely no more support than you had in 2014. More empty noises whilst they submit their expense claims, Salmond must be feeling uneasy as all the nutters will now be looking at him to charge the ramparts, and like Sturgeon he would prefer the easy life just being on telly and drawing his salary with no responsibility.

Extremely effective in my opinion from what ive read and saw , but not effective enough in terms of scotland is still part of the uk. Time will tell mate.
Meanwhile , good auld sir stodge and the labour party have helpfully come along to take some of the flak off the snp and tories in london. The uk binfire continues to burn out of control.

Now think about what you have said above , and how little sense it makes in light of salmond having stood down in 2014 , but here and now he is still politically campaigning for scot indy as the head of Alba.
If he wanted the quiet life , clearly he would have stepped back into the shadows out of the political limelight.
Unfortunately ommy , scot indy isnt going away.

He likes being in the political limelight, particularly so when he can claim expenses and have no responsibility.
It was due to Salmond's ineptitude that you lost the last referendum.
When asked about currency, defense, trade deals, relationship with the UK, military pensions, he didn't have the first idea about any of it, which is why Scots voted No, and 8 years later he still hasn't got an answer for any of it, doesn't that tell you something?

Eh?
what are you talking about? What expenses does salmond claim om? He is the unelected leader of a fledgling party , who has put thousands of pounds of his own money into fighting for scottish indy. Being the leader of a political party in its infancy is hard work , hard campaigning often for little reward. Hardly the mark of no responsibility , in fact i dont think you could get more repsonsibility.
Eh? jesus christ om , what are you talking about?
He won two elections for his then party , with the second securing the indy ref post 2011 , then went on to take scotland from a low base of indy support , around 20/25% at the time to within a whisker of winning the referendum on 45 %.
He made mistakes , undoubtedly , but frightened the british establishment to the core of thier being. While i agre with some of what you say about sturgeon , salmonds legacy is beyond reproach
rubbish. You didnt read the white paper , and various other information at the time regarding what he wanted to do? The currency issue in my opinion was the achillies heel at the time . what answers is it you want on which particular subject?
There was to be a scottish defence force , with faslane as a naval base free of nukes.
Relationship with the rUK was clearly defined ,He even went as far as to honour those who wished to keep british passports , wanted a friendly relationship with london , to keep the CTA and much else.
In fact , everything you told us would happen if we went independent has happened by staying in the uk.
what does what tell me? Half the scottish popualtion want out the uk , even unionist hysterics like happy arent happy with englands brexit , and the brit parties are fairing poorly in the polls in scotland.
You should pick up a book on the british empire and look at how countires became independent. Once enough of the popualtion wanted out , londons control was over. No matter how hard you attacked political parties and independence movements , when the people had enough , the party was over.
Scotland is no different.
