The Tories inherited a shit show because of the financial crisis and many of the complaints aimed at them are just bollocks. They had no choice but to adopt austerity given the dire state of the public finances, and the EU's insistence on it. Labour's insistence on sending half the country to University was also a massive problem. The Tory response was pretty dumb, surely they should have just said no to people that were not up to it, or wanting to study some meaningless degree. I think they did ok during COVID, they certainly surprised me with furlough and other financial help that kept people / business afloat. When you look at excessive deaths we actually did better than Germany, France, Spain and Italy. All this we could have locked down earlier is just bollocks. I saw what you all did when the lockdowns were announced. You all had pre-lock down parties, went to the pub, flocked to the beach, went to football matches, went to the races. Then during the lockdowns I saw you all partying in neighbours gardens, I saw all the essential workers ducking the rules when the boss wasn't watching. My biggest problem with the Tories has been their reluctance to have an honest conversation with the public about the obvious elephant in the room... we are living way way way beyond our means. Instead of arguing over NHS funding, they should have been concentrating more on public health. Raise alcohol prices, ban smoking, tax unhealthy foods, incentivise exercise by scrapping VAT on gym members, swimming pools, bicycles etc. Unfortunately a huge part of the population need to be (a) nannied because they have little or no personal responsibility (b) managed because they scum. I'd quite happily send these scumbags to Rwanda and let a asylum seeker take their place and be given a chance. I agree with the above, or I mostly agree with it anyway. I think it's best summed up by saying, the conservatives are no longer Conservative. However I do have an issue with some of your points from para 3. Of course the government have a responsibility over public health, but people have a responsibility too. These days if you criticise an 18st person who was sitting in McDonalds filling his face with twenty quid's worth of burger & chips you would be shouted down for 'fat shaming' and causing offence. Just look at some TV ads, being fat is being normalised. In my opinion fat people's feelings should not be spared, the government and advertisers should be sending out the message that being fat will reduce life expectancy cause health problems and is a drain on the NHS. I disagree with raising prices on alcohol or food that is considered to be unhealthy, this will penalise people who may not have much money but take to the kids to McDonalds once a month as a treat. Such policies only effect the poorest in society, and with the best will in the world I doubt scrapping VAT on gym membership would have any effect on the target audience. I believe that when it comes to public health, education is the key 'honest' education. If someone is fat they should be told that fat is bad, not good or normal. The Tories used to be good at this sort of thing, but like I said, the Tories aren't very Tory these days.

That none of their supporters thus far has felt able to come up with anything more positive than that, itself is a damning indictment of the Tory record. Only if you look at the shitty way other parties have run their fiefdoms. Most of you buggers and thank god my youngest have escaped the clutches of the marxist scum and admirer of violence by his own words that leads them that i have to deal with. If you want to see what twenty five years if uninterrupted labour rule means, come to fucking wales. You’ll soon vote ‘any other fucker but the left’ After more than 6 GE's you have to wonder why the Welsh keep voting them in, does that give you a clue? It would appear that the 'majority' of Welsh voters do not agree with you.

But They ‘keep voting in’ a mishmash of broad and extreme left ragtags none of which have an overall majority but all if whom clump together and take on a uniform appearance the same way shit does in the colon to ensure the tories stay in opposition Which as i have said openly on here i have said to the face of both their corrupt leader in the assembly, who openly bribed an assembly member to take tbe tory whip, and the local party chairman, they have only themselves, for their corrupt practice, and maggie thatcher for her JOYOUS REJOICING at destroying welsh jobs, industry and living stsndards, to blame.

Hmmm, Thatcher was a Tory but never mind. It is our system that allows a party with a smaller electorate to govern. The Tories may not be in control in Wales but they hold the purse strings.

So we tax fuel high to encourage people to drive less... but we can't tax high sugar / processed foods / alcohol to protect the most import thing in people's life... ie their health. This is what makes me laugh when the lefties demand Nordic levels of public service but (a) don't want Nordic levels of taxation (b) demand their right to cheap alcohol and food so they can end their lives early lol

Squeezing every penny out of motorists has been government policy for decades. I accept lefties now use it as an excuse to penalise motorists, you're not a lefty are you Dodgy, come on it's quiet, you can tell me...

Only an idiot would deny there is an active policy to price many motorists out of cars and onto public transport.
