What have the Conservatives done that benefits ordinary people in this country since they have been in power for the last 13 years? I have pondered this at great length and have come up with nothing. They say they "got Brexit done" but they have not. They say "crime is down" but it not. There has been utter carnage since they came into power and still 'expect' people to vote for them at the next GE. Does anyone know what they have done to benefit ordinary people? Kept labour out. No, Corbyn did that.

The talking horse wants to be glad it's the Tories, imagine the state of this country if Labour were in power, including a pandemic and a war.
Brown was flogging off our gold, and anything that wasn't nailed down when we had our financial global crisis.
The Tories sold off our oil and gas along with the rest of the "family silver". Boris, who was initially in favour of herd immunity allowed it to determine his late attention to Covid, causing many unnecessary deaths from Covid. The Conservatives make Brown look pretty good in comparison to the major mistakes they made. You are so biased you even insinuate the lie of a war. Your posts are a good example of why the UK economy has for almost all of the time over the last 70 years gone from shit to shit. I put it down to the ability of Conservative propaganda, aided and abetted by the Tory media, to fool and mislead so many people.

Typical leftie passing the buck, under Labour we had a illegal war, our gold supply was sold off on the cheap, Blair gave GPs, and other lucrative contracts to private NHS contractors, that are almost impossible to cancel, bringing the NHS to its knees, and you wonder why it's gone from shit to shit.

I approached this post in a spirit of credit where credit is due, but in all honesty there is little that they have done to help ordinary people and what they have done is far outweighed by the damage they have done. But the good bits I can think of. They have substantially raised the basic rate tax threshold and also the NI threshold. It is now possible to earn well over 12k before you have to pay either, which is a great help to lower earners. This is of course all now being gradually undermined by these same Tories by freezing those same thresholds at a time when inflation is rocketing. They also introduced the so called living wage, albeit only for those aged 25 and over. And they have raised it substantially ever since, often by well above inflation. And even with inflation running at over 10 percent now, they have mandated an increase this April which keeps pace with it. This is doing something to help lower earners. During the pandemic they gave unprecedented levels of support to individuals and businesses. And although their response to the pandemic as a whole was pretty disastrous, they did oversee a rapid rolling out of the vaccine. They have been solid in their support for Ukraine. Even Boris Johnson did well on that issue. It really is hard to think of anything else. Its not much to show for 13 years in power, when the negatives could fill the chapter of a book.

Couple of other good things they have done that I have just thought of is help with energy bills and the modest cut in fuel duty last year.
It is still not a lot to show for 13 years in power.

Ha ha, no, I posted that it is an example of why. And you know what I posted so try being a little more honest with your replies. What illegal war? The money from selling off the "Family silver" has gone for ever, while some gold and most of the money from the selling was turned into foreign currencies and placed in the reserves where they earned interest, and as I have pointed out to you before today some of the money was used to reduce the national debt thus benefitting from an ongoing reduction in the interest paid on the national debt. Tory mistakes were far more costly, and the additional unnecessary Covid deaths are unforgivable. The NHS has had its average annual funding over the last ten years reduced by two thirds, look no further than the Tories for the usual mess the NHS gets into under a Tory government. You grab at the problems while ignoring the causes. Further proof of my earlier conclusions. The economy has always floundered under the Tories.

Actually you traitorous Blairites played a massive hand in that. Corbyn is the traitor he let working people down, his Lady Bountiful approach to politics made him a laughing stock and his iffy image when it came to terrorists exposed him as being a nice man, a very naïve man, and it exposed his reluctance to acknowledge the obvious that he is a pacifist.

I can agree with the Ukraine bit but I am afraid the other positives are cancelled out by the counterbalance of inflation and interest rates as you say.
