They fast tracked a vaccination programme during the covid emergency. True.
But probably the result of panic after leaving any reaction to Covid for so long and then throwing money at various hurried schemes, of which the vaccine was the most successful.
The overall outcome from Covid could have been much better if the government had paid earlier and greater attention to its medical and scientific advisors...

What have the Conservatives done that benefits ordinary people in this country since they have been in power for the last 13 years? I have pondered this at great length and have come up with nothing. They say they "got Brexit done" but they have not. They say "crime is down" but it not. There has been utter carnage since they came into power and still 'expect' people to vote for them at the next GE. Does anyone know what they have done to benefit ordinary people? Mainly, they stopped the Labour party from making us a fourth world shithole.

I am not asking about Labour if I were I would have been talking about 'whatifery' as you are.😒 If you don't want to engage that's your choice but attempting to 'highjack' the thread is bad form.

Yet you ask what the tory party did for the common man in the last 13 years and overwhelmingly the answer is that they, and they alone, provided an alternative to the clusterfuckery experienced in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Sadly the Airbrushed David Cameron repeatedly failed to deliver on promises made to ordinary blokes like me to restore the standard of living destroyed by Blair, and wished to continue the eradication of the identity the country had in my youth through the continued import of millions of foreigners legal and illegal but it is an absolute certainty had the opposition been in charge our cities would have more immigrants than the countries they left. In Wales just about any health or education metric has been worse than its english counterpart since the day blair handed the assembly in the bay control of them. Only recently has english performance fallen to meet welsh mediocrity.

It would appear that the 'best' thing the Tories have done, going on what's been said so far is 'keep labour out'.😂

Done a lot of personal nest feathering, voted for and agreed by the rest of Parliament. Who after the fact have tried to pass the buck between themselves. As it seems some did better out of it than others. That does not count as 'benefiting' the people. Well ask a stupid question! since when were any of them interested in making things about you?

The Tories sold off our oil and gas along with the rest of the "family silver". Boris, who was initially in favour of herd immunity allowed it to determine his late attention to Covid, causing many unnecessary deaths from Covid. The Conservatives make Brown look pretty good in comparison to the major mistakes they made. Which Blair continued, often by the back door. I posted examples, would you care to post some examples? Please.

The Tories inherited a shit show because of the financial crisis and many of the complaints aimed at them are just bollocks. They had no choice but to adopt austerity given the dire state of the public finances, and the EU's insistence on it.
Labour's insistence on sending half the country to University was also a massive problem. The Tory response was pretty dumb, surely they should have just said no to people that were not up to it, or wanting to study some meaningless degree.
I think they did ok during COVID, they certainly surprised me with furlough and other financial help that kept people / business afloat. When you look at excessive deaths we actually did better than Germany, France, Spain and Italy. All this we could have locked down earlier is just bollocks. I saw what you all did when the lockdowns were announced. You all had pre-lock down parties, went to the pub, flocked to the beach, went to football matches, went to the races. Then during the lockdowns I saw you all partying in neighbours gardens, I saw all the essential workers ducking the rules when the boss wasn't watching.
My biggest problem with the Tories has been their reluctance to have an honest conversation with the public about the obvious elephant in the room... we are living way way way beyond our means. Instead of arguing over NHS funding, they should have been concentrating more on public health. Raise alcohol prices, ban smoking, tax unhealthy foods, incentivise exercise by scrapping VAT on gym members, swimming pools, bicycles etc.
Unfortunately a huge part of the population need to be (a) nannied because they have little or no personal responsibility (b) managed because they scum. I'd quite happily send these scumbags to Rwanda and let a asylum seeker take their place and be given a chance.

Only if you look at the shitty way other parties have run their fiefdoms. Most of you buggers and thank god my youngest have escaped the clutches of the marxist scum and admirer of violence by his own words that leads them that i have to deal with. If you want to see what twenty five years if uninterrupted labour rule means, come to fucking wales. You’ll soon vote ‘any other fucker but the left’
