Personally I’d welcome a study into the desirability and viability of London and the southeast becoming and economic separate state and, if people agreed, I’d like it to be enacted. Then whines that somebody on some forum told him he cannot be English, which could well be a load of aggro creating bollocks.
In reality you are British, just as Thomas and I are British. That is our legal nationality, where English, Scots, Welsh are more in tune with ethnicity. The fact that you are only interested in states, breaking up England and economics does suggest that you don't even want to be English. The Labour party treated the English as non-existent, so maybe you're just following their desirable stance.
Personally, I couldn't give a damn what you call yourself. I certainly won't pander to you, but I am sure Thomas will lap up your grievances and try and use it to his advantage.

My legal nationality is scottish. I have a birth certificate which is scottish not british , and my marriage certificate states on it in clear black print country of birth....scotland.
My uk/british passport is a travel document i share with people who neither live on nor have ever set foot in these islands.?
My earlier point still stands though. Patman and myself have had our disagreements over many years on many forums , but who are you to tell him or anyone what his national identity is?
He can nat ID whatever he likes , in the end its fuck all to do with you.

Well, he hasn't denied being British and I suspect that he is in fact British. He can be English if he likes, it's just a checkbox, and while it does help to have some common ground, it isn't required. I guess it's a bit like how ScotNats change gender.

National identity is a personal choice. For the purposes of travel , birth and marriage i have many differing legal nationalities if you feel nationality is dictated by a piece of paper .
You dont tell people how they nationally identify , nor do you issue the bits of paper to do with travel birth or marriage.
