That's just a different way to describe the same thing So the Tories want to process asylum seekers, if so why don't they? I think the Tories are ostensibly trying to avoid the left's asylum model - ie flooding the country with applicants that then can't be deported

And how many people will arrive, be processed and allowed to stay if that process is adopted? Bearing in mind that the standard adopted by the left is pretty wide ranging and 100s of millions would meet those standards worldwide and would soon realise that all they needed to do was to get here, or even one of the processing centres outwith the UK also favoured by the left. Sustainability is always the issue and we have seen countries destroyed by refugees all over the world. We can be kind and compassionate and be swamped or we can be tough and compassionate and still take in a few or we can be tough and strict and stop the problem altogether. I always veered to the middle option but now like many others I favour the latter because the left are playing games with people and not just British Citizens. Here we go with the hundreds of millions again.😔 No country has been destroyed by immigration, rather they have been built on immigration, where do you get your info from? What has immigration built in the UK?

What has immigration built in the UK? Mosques? Grocery shops specialising in East European cuisine? True but are you saying people should not celebrate their religion because they or their parents were not born here? I like pizzas. Immigrants boost the economy.

Immigrants boost the economy. Are you hiding behind a leading question to make an accusation? If immigrants boost the economy then we should let 20 million immigrants into the country and that would really really boost our economy..right?

Let us say 1% feel the need to travel to the UK, that is well over 1 million. How will that work out. I shudder to think The Lebanon was a bit of a beacon in the ME until Jordan kicked out the Palestinians and they ended up there. So Jordan found it destructive, the Lebanon certainly found it destructive. How is the Syrian refugee situation working out for Turkey. I have not mentioned the problems in Europe but Sweden has problems, Germany has problems and there is little doubt France has problems.

Immigrants boost the economy. When I emigrated to England I took porridge, oatcakes, stovies and haggis with me and did not convert anyone to the joys of Scottish Cuisine. I have no idea why Cullen Skink initiated a gagging response from some.

Sorry, I thought you meant Mosques in a derogatory manner. It would actually if they were working, spending money and paying taxes, what a silly question to ask.

No of those countries have been 'destroyed', damage possibly but not destroyed, don't be so dramatic.

What has immigration built in the UK? The Mini is one of a very long list. Good example - British Leyland lost money on every Mini they sold, so immigration is simply a drain on the public purse.

The mini is a good example. Many people claimed it was invented by Mary Quant, though the more substantial claim is that André Courrèges, was more likely to be the mini skirt inventer. He died a few days ago at the ripe old age of 92, but Quant is still with us at 93 (I think), so her claim may gather more steam.
Either way it's history, and that's something the UK is good at, even if it only slightly boosts productivity...

We already have in England and Wales approx one in six born outside the UK. How many more can we take and still be Britain, how many more should we take and is there a number you think is too many. For most other people they think we have long passed the too many.
