Lineker has been good on MOTD genuinely makes some funny puns on football. Yet he has gone out of his way to attack a government policy and then double-downed to say he won't stop criticising on this point. Fine as an individual yet when he is earning over 1.3m on a tax payer funded media channel think it is time for him to be sacked. The 1.3m is a ridiculous amount. Having said that he is entitled to his view and as long as he does not use the BBC platform then he can say what he likes. The same should apply to all however, and it does not and that is teh problem.

The Nazi's imported Jews, homosexuals, Gypsies and others as slave labour. They didn't "import" any of those people.. They were already there. If anything they were trying to get rid of them. If you want to argue at least get your facts right. What do you mean "they didn't import them? The took Jews from all conquered nations back to Germany with the express plan of killing them, you really need to brush up on your history.

Linaker never actually mentioned Nazi's or Hitler. He was talking about the rhetoric before the war. Haha what a dishonest argument. If that kind of argument came from the right you would (rightly) call it out as a bullshit attempt at back tracking. What he is doing is complaining about hate speech... with hate speech (stereotyping a group of people and giving them a label to dehumanise them). You could easily switch the accusation back on him, because he doing the same fucking thing he is complaining about lol!!! Linekar is using talk straight out of 1930s Germany... but you know, I'm not calling him a Nazi... because nobody associates 1930s Germany with Nazis hahahahaha. Personally I think the policy is shit, but I can say it is shit, and suggest an alternative without seeking to label the Tories as Nazis. I'm a Social Democrat at heart, but I can't connect with most people on the left because many can't have a sensible discussion without seeking to invalidate the arguments of others by labelling them corrupt / elitist / racist / nazis / sexists / homophobes / transphobes. When did he use the word Nazi?

lefties continuously , as you are demonstrating. So you admit that there is no parallel of the UK migrant situation and Nazi Germany . I did. There is no parallel between the camps set up for migrants and Nazi concentration camps . You are still posting dishonest bullshit Tell that to the German Jews, homosexuals and Gypsies that were put in camps by the Nazi's because they were different. The Germans did not originally set up the camps as extermination camps and many were never used for such, just hard labour. The Nazi's started slowly before they 'evolved' into what we know today, the parallels are there for all to see. Nope. You tell the forum that you are making dishonest, vile, false comparisons.

Without the BBC he would not be half as well-known, so he is using his BBC generated fame to act as a social warrior in opposition to the government. Like what would happen in any private corporate you would lose your job for bringing your company into disrepute.

Like what would happen in any private corporate you would lose your job for bringing your company into disrepute. Which means that a condition of any employment is not to air political views at any time. That would tie up political discourse to one way viewed by whomsoever as being the only acceptable way, and would take us back to the days when miners had to seek permission to change jobs and maids had to seek permission to marry. If we are employed by someone to carry out a task then all that needs to be done is carry out that task effectively. Lineker is not the BBC in the same way a man working at Tesco is not Tesco. The problem is the left in general do not accept this and see personal views as being inseparable from the ability to carry out a task and only views that align with theirs can be aired.

This is why so many Brexit voting people were deemed to be media shy they instinctively know the career consequences if they work for a corporate or certain other employers.

Nope. You tell the forum that you are making dishonest, vile, false comparisons. History and you are not well acquainted.😔 Lessons from history should be taken for all things. History clearly shows us that any attempt at a disparate multicultural/multiethnic society is fraught with problems as regards co existence and that such cannot be created and work effectively. Ireland has been ongoing for 400 years and is still causing problems If we are drawing lessons from history can we draw on all aspects and all lessons. The Nazis were able to do what they did because native Germans felt as though they were being subsumed and taken advantage of by 'others'. Whether they were right or wrong it was the existence of 'others' in large numbers that created the problem, and that is a lesson that should have been learned immediately post 1945.

Agreed and it was not right. I know the Lineker situation exposes, again, the rampant hypocrisy of the left but then if I support a principle it has to apply to all whether I like it or not.

I am not saying that Linacre should have said it given that the government would like to stop all dissenting voices but I am saying he was spot on.
