If the present laws are strictly applied then, because the UK is not bordered by countries from where Asylum seekers are fleeing persecution, most asylum seekers arriving here are initially classified as "Illegals". People who have claimed asylum in other countries can apply to be resettled here ... but the UK can then be very selective about who they want.
Maybe, if the current laws are strictly applied, we'll end up like Japan ... where only a handful of people are granted refugee status each year? Japan does resettled people who have claimed asylum in other countries.
"The Government of Japan's resettlement program targets refugees who are currently in the Asian region. If you are a refugee outside Japan, but are physically residing in the Asian region, you should contact the UNHCR office that you are registered with to discuss your resettlement needs".
The question is thus ... how many refugees does the UK intend to "resettle" ...and what skills do they need to have?

The BBC management have hated Clarkson for years - they were looking for any excuse to sack him. But it's cost them a LOT of money. The new TG is pathetic. If they sacked Lineker it would just save them millions. |

Pretty much has .Afaik Amazon has cancelled Clarksons farm and the other one that I can’t remember the name but can’t be bothered to google . I think he’s not on the next “ who withstand to be a millionaire “ too . So he has lost work over it . I think he’s lost his regular article in the sun too but Im not sure . |
