This might help ..the public expression of opinions or sentiments intended to demonstrate one's good character or social conscience or the moral correctness of one's position on a particular issue…ie .sanctimonious .. I would add especially when a degree of hyperbole and …dog whistle politics, a dog whistle is the use of coded or suggestive language in political messaging to garner support from a particular group without provoking opposition.ie ( alluding to Nazis) . You may be surprised to learn that people can have differing opinions from you without them being merely virtue signalling. Lineker has strong empathy towards refugees and has even put them up in his own home. You reducing that to virtue signalling is ignorant. |

Lineker posted a dog whistle type false claim . He compared the Tory government with the Nazi party ( don’t pretend otherwise) on a platform that he built on being an over paid Soccer commentator . I have two cats . That doesn’t slow me to make false claims regarding cruelty to kittens . |

Speaking in the Commons on Tuesday, she said "there are 100 million people" who would qualify for asylum under the current law.
She added: "Let's be clear - they are coming here.
"This is the crucial point of this Bill. They will not stop coming here until the world knows that if you enter Britain illegally you will be detained and swiftly removed.
"Removed back to your country if it is safe, or to a safe third country like Rwanda. And that is precisely what this Bill will do. That is how we will stop the boats."
Ms Braverman said people will be able to be detained for 28 days without bail or judicial review.
Only under-18s, those medically unfit to fly or at "real risk" if they are returned to the country they have left will be able to lodge an appeal to avoid being deported.
There will also be an annual cap on the number of refugees entering via safe routes as part of the bill.

Seems Bentley missed all the words about invaders, exaggerated numbers and denying rights and access to legal redress. All very similar to 1930s Germany bile. And then there's the words on the front page on the bill effectively saying we don't care if this is illegal

All I know for sure is that there is no point in engaging with those who are intentionally obtuse and openly dishonest as to call that Nazism. |
