The reality is that the general public have consistently supported and voted for tighter immigration control, so it's very unlikely that they'll support people smuggling and illegal migration. |

Calling uncomfortable opinions virtue signalling is pretty childish. If you don't agree with Lineker then fair enough but labelling it as just virtue signalling is lazy and juvenile. |

This might help ..the public expression of opinions or sentiments intended to demonstrate one's good character or social conscience or the moral correctness of one's position on a particular issue…ie .sanctimonious .. I would add especially when a degree of hyperbole and …dog whistle politics, a dog whistle is the use of coded or suggestive language in political messaging to garner support from a particular group without provoking opposition.ie ( alluding to Nazis) . |

That would be fair point if it was a 'fair' assessment of the situation. Right wingers have been making political statements whilst employed by the BBC, That has nothing to do with altruism one way or another - My point was about the left performing concerted racial hate motivated attacks on communities and calling it altruism I think my point is it is disguised as, or masquerades as, altruism as the whole point made by the left in general is that 'we' should take in many more 'refugees' as not just the right thing to do but also to meet our international obligations. It is placing us on the rack of morality and law. What the real intent is of course is a matter of conjecture, it certainly seems to be the destruction of British identity and culture, as that is the undoubted result. |
