They don't 'only' want to settle in the UK some Stay in France, Germany, mind you according to Braverman billions want to come here. 😔 Our army was fighting in Afghanistan and many Afghans now have ties with the UK, those that have not been shot, that is. I'll tell you how many want to come here, more than wewant and more than we can cope with. Whilst you think you are supporting these poor downtrodden people, the reality is you are supporting the industrialists who want to exploit them. Who is we? 45,000 people came last year that's less than a lot of premier league football matches per day. There were 600,000 live births in England which is less than 2019. The Tories tell you we can't cope and like lambs you fall in line. The point is you and people like you think it is right to send back Afghans to Afghanistan where they will probably be killed.

The army in Afghanistan was NATO and many Afghans have already been allowed refugee status here. The point is that asylum is usually visited upon the neighbours of any country. Britain took Huegenots ( I am not sure how many Iran and Syria took), Jews, Belgians, Dutch, French, Polish and many more. Now you want us to 'pull our weight' well we did and from those very countries through which the current invaders are passing. No good deed huh! Braverman said that on current rules about 100 million would be granted asylum in the UK if they could get here. I think her figures are a little low. There are 68 million people living in the UK and you think a 100+ million more are on there way. Braverman quoted billions so you seem a bit low. Realism is not your forte.

Was it just to scare the sheep and whip up anti-immigrant sentiment in a bit of blatant electioneering?

Any suggestion that 100 million people could make their way to the UK and be received as asylum seekers is even more crap than Farage’s claim that 75 million Turkish people could arrive if the UK stayed in the EU…

She said the 100,000,000 in responese to someone saying we did not need immigration controls.
Arguing that 100m people would like to come here and without controls it could become a disaster.

Suggesting they would all want to come here is either an act of extreme arrogance or some shameless scaremongering.

Well it's a common sense deal but while it looks like a Lineker win, this will be a game of two halves. I wouldn't be surprised to see this review come back and say that 'presenters who appear to be BBC employees to many have to behave as BBC employees on social media'. Have to say that would be a reasonable position.
So don’t bet on Lineker renewing his contract when it comes up. He doesn’t need this grief and ITV etc would pay him more

. . . Edit.I retract that . She did say it . Stupid cow. Oh yes but she's always been such. I wonder what odds I could get on her not being re-elected at the next election? Especially if Lineker were to stand against her as a Martin Bell type candidate.
