And you don't know the difference between 'the weather' and climate change. I have asked you to give us an example of climate change. Is there any likely hood of an answer this century? Try about 4 or 5 posts up. Unlike you I answer questions.

If you think we will cease burning gas in 10 years you are mad. It will be a back up trivial part of our energy production. Trivial? - have you looked at your own graph.. Companies are already withdrawing investment in renewable energy production so the idea that Gas will cease to be a major part of the mix for decades to come is fantasy.

For Christs sake ZG, the climate has always changed, please see google. When it comes to climate alarmism I often think thanks heavens the Romans didn't have twitter. For Christs sake Red. Stop repeating this shite when you know nothing about the subject and make no effort to find out. Historical climate change exists and was traumatic and deadly. We know it happened from the fossils of the billions of creatures it killed. We know what caused it back then and we know what's causing it now. Exactly - and climate change will continue in the future. So we are better off trying to mitigate any negative effects rather than trying (and failing) to stop it.

You have not answered the question...I want a practicle example not a myth....And BTW you never answered any questions put to you in your own thread in the mindzone apart from calling others fools when the going got tough.

ZG, 20 years ago we relied on coal power stations for our energy needs and they provided reliable power 24/7. The urgent requirement for shale gas is because we destroyed our coal fired power stations with no obvious plan to replace them, other than relying on Putin and the wind (I know, you couldn't make it up) But of course, thanks to people like you the government cant even exploit our own shale gas reserves, so they buy it from the US instead. Which is much greener, right? You're showing your age Red. We dramatically reduced coal usage in 1990, 33 years ago. Hence my 20 years ago thought for shale gas. Oh and once again for the stereotypists. I AM IN FAVOUR OF USING OUR OWN GAS until renewables are fully expanded. ZG, I'm not relying on google. In 2011 UK power stations burned 30% more coal than in any year since 1996 due to a spike in gas prices. It was a luxury the consumer didn't pay for, at that time we had the capacity to cope with it because we didn't rely on unreliable wind power. I could go through the list of coal fired power stations that were on-line in the year 2000, but it's a long list which includes all power stations and tbh, I cant be bothered.

Stop repeating this shite when you know nothing about the subject and make no effort to find out. Historical climate change exists and was traumatic and deadly. We know it happened from the fossils of the billions of creatures it killed. We know what caused it back then and we know what's causing it now. Well according to Professor Isabel Cacho at the Department of Earth and Ocean Dynamics, University of Barcelona: Quote - For the first time, we can state the Roman period was the warmest period of time of the last 2,000 years, and these conditions lasted for 500 years. Compared to the subsequent period of the Roman Empire, the Mediterranean was characterised by a colder phase from around 500 BC to 200 BC. This corresponds with the beginning of the so-called ‘sub-Atlantic phase’ characterised by a cool climate and rainy winters which was favourable for Greek and Roman civilisations to grow crops. The cool and humid climate of the sub-Atlantic phase lasted until around 100 BC and covered the entire period of the monarchy in Rome. However, in 400 BC, cultural changes were synchronised across the Mediterranean region and more ‘homogeneous’ temperature conditions across the Med regions were established. A distinct warming phase, running from AD 1 to AD 500, then coincided with the Roman Period and covered the whole Roman Empire archaeological period. ‘This pronounced warming during the Roman Period is almost consistent with other marine records from Atlantic Ocean,’ the team say in their research paper, published in Scientific Reports. This climate phase corresponds to what is known as the ‘Roman Climatic Optimum’ characterised by prosperity and expansion of the Empire, giving warmth and sunlight to crops.www.netzerowatch.com/roman-warm-period-was-2c-warmer-than-today-new-study/The Roman warm period was followed by a period of cooling, this is why the Romans left 'Britannia'. Thank heavens the Romans didn't have twitter. This info btw is not a secret to anyone who has access to the internet.

We know it happened from the fossils of the billions of creatures it killed. We know what caused it back then and we know what's causing it now. Historical climate change was usually caused by natural events, like asteroids or volcano eruptions, which caused very large and rapid changes of climate. The changes of temperature that we've seen since the industrial revolution are very small - although they can be made to look large by using offset graphs and other tricks. What's killing "billions of creatures" now is not CO2 or slight temperature changes - it's loss of habitat and the use of dangerous pesticides. And these are caused by the huge rise in the human population.

My graph and in fact EVERY graph shows a steady increase in non fossil fuel energy production. Have you managed to find a story about a company withdrawing their investment? Well done.

Its your reason I dispute. You say its because wind can't cut it, I say its because Putin turned off another fossil fuel. I'm right and you're wrong. That is clearly shown in that the amount of energy from renewables continued to grow while gas shrunk. I just want you to put the blame where it belongs.

The water keeps getting warmer and they see a couple of other frogs die, but they look over the edge and see the difficulty in getting out. So they keep saying, its not that bad, we've had heat before "remember the summer of 75" and "I read somewhere another pot actually boiled and we're still here" And still the water gets warmer...

My graph and in fact EVERY graph shows a steady increase in non fossil fuel energy production. Of course. As they build more turbines and carpet more fields with solar panels (to the detriment of wildlife) the amount of energy produced by these sources is bound to increase. The trouble is that the energy mainly comes when we don't need it - and this winter we're having to restart coal-fired power stations and pay customers to stop using electricity because renewables are not reliable. AND WIND/SOLAR NEVER WILL BE.

Can one of you that's taken so much trouble to research this please tell me how much of the countryside has been carpeted with solar panels.

And what about the scientists that can see the light of day and see this eco bollocks for what it is? You keep harping on about climate change so gives us and example? What about them. One example; Worldwide, most glaciers are shrinking or disappearing altogether. Relative to 1970, the climate reference glaciers tracked by the World Glacier Monitoring Service have lost a volume of ice equivalent to nearly 25 meters of liquid water—the equivalent of slicing 27.5 meters of ice off the top of each glacier. Glacier melt accounts for about 20% of sea level rise which has been about 4 inches since 1993, so about an inch and a bit every decade and glacier melt will provide just over a quarter of an inch a decade. It seems we will all be drowning very soon. These are figures from official cultist sources.

It seems we will all be drowning very soon. These are figures from official cultist sources. I was asked for proof of global warming, not a script for a disaster movie. Why do deniers all think we are looking at some extinction level event. What we are looking at is massive upheaval in our weather patterns, some fertile areas will become barren, some barren areas fertile. Some rivers will flood and change their courses, others dry up. Many animal species will nope cope with the changes and become extinct. Houses built for one type of climate will find themselves in an entirely different one they were not built for, flat roofed whitewashed homes will flood and tiled roofed homes will overheat. The result won't be extinction, but it will mean hardship and some famine and war. And the warming wont be a single event to survive and get over. No, until we stop pumping Co2 into the atmosphere it will keep getting warmer, so that every adaption we make, every change to building, farming, flood defence, water storage change will be a temporary one to be repeated as the climate changes again and again.
