Pardon me but he doesn’t seem to fit the mould of ‘model prisoner’ Well they have probably driven him insane over all those years, keeping him in looks political,we saw it with the train robbers.

Pardon me but he doesn’t seem to fit the mould of ‘model prisoner’ No, but he is a 70 year old man who has spent almost his entire adult life behind bars. He's been in prison long enough.
Let him out. Let him paint.

He can still paint behind a locked door.
His is demonstrably not the track record of a sane, or safe, person. Beyond which, the prospect of such an appalling character being granted his freedom and walking straight into a fortune in media deals would be pretty unpalatable.

Bronson never did himself any favours.

I read his book a few years back, quite a story. I remember one occasion when his family travelled from Luton to Wakefield to see him in a pre arranged prison visit. When his family got to Wakefield prison the prison authorities refused to allow the visit to go ahead, so they had no choice other than turn around and return to Luton. He always said prison staff would cancel visits at the last minute as punishment. But on this occasion the reason his family were at the last minute refused a visit was because he had been beaten to a pulp by prison staff and at the very moment his family were waiting to see him, he was naked, covered in his own blood, stood upright although semi-conscious in a dark steel coffin shaped box which in turn was in a dark subterranean cell in the bowels of the prison.
The box had a mesh grid on the front through which his tormentors blasted him from time to time with cold water from a fire hose. And people wonder why he was an animal. That was one of many examples of the way he was treated. Had it not been for his solicitor he may have died in Broadmoor or Rampton cant remember which. He was constantly sedated, or kept under the chemical cosh, because he shouldn't have been there and the authorities didn't know what to do with him or how to handle him. When his solicitor finally managed to get him out of the psychiatric prison system he was mentally confused and five stones heavier, and thrown straight back into the cat A max security prison system. Little wonder he was angry.
Charles Bronson (Born Michael Peterson) could without a doubt be a handful, but anyone who reads his book could in my opinion only come to one conclusion, the prison system has utterly failed him, and continues to do so.

Convict writes self-serving memoir blaming other people and agencies for his own wrongdoing while portraying himself as a sensitive soul who's just a bit of a jack the lad? I'm shocked - SHOCKED I tell you..

So who knows what was redacted.

Imo Branson was the kind of bloke who would take you apart and put you in hospital for a wrong look. He was the worst of the worst , so they put him in isolation.

I met John McVicar, many years ago at some industry do or other. For some weird reason, he latched onto me for the evening. While I can hardly claim to have "known" him (he gave me his card and told me to be in touch next time I was in London - which I never did), he wanted me to do coke with him (I have never touched the stuff), & certainly gave off a very creepy vibe.

Bronson never left a bomb in a public place in order to cause maximum casualties, in fact he never killed anyone, he never raped children on an industrial scale, in fact he never raped anyone. To call Bronson the worst of the worst is ignoring a hell of a lot of people who should have swung.

If I locked you up for 40 years would you be sane or safe ? His original sentence, is long since served. He's now an old man.

What I’ve seen of McVicar pretty much confirms what you say.
