The war on woke is far from over, but is peak woke in sight indeed, have we reached peak woke?
Along with the sensible majority in this country I was heartened at the Queen Consorts swipe at woke when she criticised cuts to Roald Dahl books. Clearly she has no fear of abuse from the 'progressive' left, good for her. There are signs, tentative signs that peak woke has been reached. Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter was seen by many as the begining of the end for woke, and it was recently reported that the editor of the New York Times shouted at staff and told them to 'wind their necks in' after they complained about the publication of an article about JK Rowling. Encouraging signs.
I think woke like BLM will die out largely due to the backlash it has created, fighting racism with racism is self defeating. Woke isn't dead yet, but it is turning toxic. The anti woke movement in the US, where woke was born, is well established. Just last week Bloomberg published an article that said woke is in decline in the US and as we all know it doesn't take long for social trends to cross the pond. So how will the progressive left deal with the death of woke. I suspect, with much anger and vitriol.

As if by magic. Puffin Books have thus far defended their decision to go woke and alter the text in Roald Dahl books to appease the extreme left. However, it would seem they have had a sudden change of heart. Minutes ago it was announced that Puffin Books will not after all alter the text in Roald Dahl's books.
Another sign that we have reached peak woke?

I listened to an item last night, cant remember whether it was GB News or Times Radio, however. It was said that the most aggressive advocates of woke today are millennials and that gen Z types are becoming bored with it. Maybe kids are begining to fight back. |

Has 'peak Woke' arrived. Who knows, clearly it has its daft and at times wrongful extremes.
Hopefully peak populism is behind us and much of what far right complain about as being 'Woke' is actually reactions to inane populism

Bear in mind many of this movement's real victims are well meaning people who have been long-term duped into defending the indefensible and making absurd arguments. If you see someone breaking into the light and struggling against some of their woke beliefs, offer a welcoming, steadying hand up, rather than a stern rebuke

One of my granddaughters started University last year, she tells me you have to be very very careful what you say around other students and Lecturers' she keeps her own Council |
