Au contraire you do You decided to in no way condemn the letter and then suggest it was a fake and then that the police should investigate. Victim blaming My question was simple. How is suggesting that something needs to be investigated by the police as a possible crime, not also condemning it? Because you suggested the police investigate possible faking of the letter. Just read your own post

Because you suggested the police investigate possible faking of the letter. Just read your own post If it helps to clarify, I didn't mean to suggest that the police should only investigate that possibility. They need to investigate the letter. Language can become cramped in a small message - Similarly, I'm sure you didn't mean to suggest that police should not investigate the possibility that it is faked, even though your brief words above could be interpreted to suggest that they shouldn't.

I condemn whoever wrote the letter. But let's keep a sense of proportion. I had a similar threat posted through the letterbox about ten years ago, in the aftermath of the BNP membership list leak and the small part I paid in its dissemination. It's a very nasty thing to have happen: The more so when it says the next thing I can look forward to is a firebomb, and there's still a child living at home. Luckily, in my case, the police took it seriously - partly because (as it turned out) the sender had form, and due to the fact that he's ex-forces (such people - because they presumably have the skill to make real on any threat - are taken more seriously than the usual spotty Herbert). (He was eventually found guilty on a number of charges of Sending a Malicious Communication.) Refreshingly - and unlike what we're seeing here from the expected quarters - there was no victim blaming or accusations of false flagging involved. I think releasing the names and addresses of BNP members resulted in many similar nasty things happening to them not least the loss of employment. I am certain most people involved in releasing that information and disseminating it were well aware of the outcome. That does not excuse what happened to you but you have to be consistent and say 'I did not like that happening to my family' so I will not let it happen to another person's family irrespective of how much I abhor what I believe his views are.

So far 6 posters doing all they can to do anything but condemn the letter, some even victim attacking, one even inferring it's OK Says so much about some here Who is the victim here? If the letter is real it is the recipient, if the letter is false it is whoever wrote it and places two victims; being the recipient and the attributed authors. If the recipient wrote the letter then the victimhood reverses. We have seen similar claims prove to be false.

It seems that Wally is quite happy doxing people who disagree with him (or whom he believes disagree with him) but not so happy to be on the receiving end of the same. That's typical left wing hypocrisy.

The Woman concerned has authoured a book about resisting racism and called Queen Elizabeth a coloniser.
Anyone start to think she is looking to stir the pot and when that happens you will attract detractors both nice and also nasty.

If it is a serious threat of course it is horrendous, extremists are a danger whether left or right.
Don’t much care what your sexual orientation or religious beliefs are so long as you don’t expect everyone else to follow and you’re harming no other, live and let live should be the way but sadly many don’t see that.

How many outraged lefties complained about Muslims in London demonstrating in support of Islamic State, a terrorist organisation. Don't know about outraged lefties but I certainly did and I cheered when those islamic extremists got jailed for those 'death' placard. Did you? And your woeful inability to condemn that appalling letter and your use of whataboutery to defend it is unsurprising but rather suggest you wished you'd written it yourself. Did you? How many of those fine upstanding well integrated peace loving Muslims were jailed?

How many fucking times do you need to be told Red? You've been told before but seems your brain just rejects anything that doesn't chime with your prejudices. Go google it yourself, they were jailed.

They were investigated and jailed well after the event after calls from MPs and many others. The only people detained at the event were two people carrying copies of the Mohammad cartoons. So on the day you can carry all sorts of banners calling for killings and slayings but display a copy of a rather innocuous cartoon and you will be dealt with quickly and efficiently.

I agree it is straight forward serious Criminal Offence " Threats' to Kill " the chances of the Police finding whoever delivered those letters is very slim IMHO

Steve - Just to let you know This posting style is absolutely fine and maintains all the fine and worthy traditions of a direct, no-nonsense British political discussion - ie vivid refences to brains and sexual acts. Just to be clear, I'm not reprimanding you, but complimenting your style and flair. I think i may put it this in a glass case on my mantelpiece.
