Oh dear another idiot who likes ofal fed lifestock curtesy of the EUSSR......But bitches like fuck over cloronated chicken but loves clorinatede Sald thanks once again to the EUSSR.....Oh and BTW enjoy your insect pizza....Bon apetite... Another Brexit bigot who cannot deal with relevant questions on things that are adversely affecting the lives of most people in the UK. And to show the difference between someone who considered the ramifications of Brexit and those who fell for and peddled the empty promises and fairy tales of Boris-Farage and BF-lite Brexiteers — I shall directly address the strange selection of points raised. I like offal — heart, kidneys, liver, tripe — but chicken gizzards are a no-no. We, the pp household, don’t wash chicken prior to cooking, but I don’t see what’s wrong with washing chicken in bulk (or salad veg) with a chlorine solution if it’s going to be transported over long distances. What I do see is wrong is the cost of transporting easily perishable fresh food from 3000+ miles away, when there are supplies on our doorstep. Don’t understand the “clorinatede Sald” reference. I can’t decipher the reference to insect pizza, but I do eat prawns and shrimps which, I’ve been told, are insects. However, I don’t have them on pizza… So when are going to ask one then? Rather than keep waffling on with your spoon fed pro EUSSR bullshit?

If you believe the food price hikes are due to Brexit then more fool you, those of us with a ounce of intelligence know exactly what's going on, and it has nothing to do with Brexit.

So completing the “done and dusted” Brexit is not only being hampered by a vindictive EU, but by a pandemic (that the UK dealt with so brilliantly on its own), a war, and lax law enforcement that’s allowing profiteering. Having shopped in supermarkets in Belgium and France in January, I witnessed that shortages, already noticeable in London supermarkets, were not apparent there. So strange that after Brexit, food — which has been an essential import for many decades — was showing shortages more suddenly in the UK than across in the EU www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/supermarket-food-shortages-rationing-uk-asda-b2287153.html

The EU can play all the games they like, but when it starts to effect livelihoods then they will be sorry, the backlash is already happening.
This is how petty and bitter the EU have become.
Spain warns the EU's proposed 'tourist tax' for Brits is a 'threat' to their economy and will see UK holidaymakers go elsewhere
The EU could begin to apply tax of 7 euro (£6.20) per non-EU tourist in November Spain's Mesa de Turismo expressed concern that it could lose millions of Brits

You also said: I don't recall anyone during the referendum telling us we'd all get cheaper food, I think that's been made up by the remoaners, because they can't let it drop.
So I thought you'd like to be aware of the facts — especially as many reasons given for voting Brexit seem deluded given the current outcome, and how the UK is currently coping...
Well there you go, I don't even remember about the promise of cheaper food if it was a Brexit result, so it clearly didn't influence my vote to leave. In 1975 we had a referendum to join the Common Market which they told us would mean more Jobs and Cheaper Food they lied , we did not have a Referendum to go in lock stock and barrel into the EU at all. At the end of WW2 the UK produced 90% of the food stuffs we needed , but since then the population has grown to over 65 million It is simple today we have far better home grown food , especially meat products our Farmers look after their stock far better that in Europe , livestock in the EU is now being fed unused offal which could result in another BSE outbreak it happened in the UK but also in the EU but they kept it quite . IMO the Supermarkets are rationing vegetables as apparently due to bad weather on Spain and Portugal they could not grow as much as they do in good hot weather, if people don't panic and go mad as they did over bog rolls , it should not be a problem. As for the wife and I will continue to buy British Produce as usual

The panic buyers cause a lot of these problems, I just get the feeling that the mentality of some people is bizarre, even people who don't like tomato's will buy them just because there is a shortage, it's like when they see a queue they feel the need to join it just because it's a queue.
The sad part is most of fruit/vet is perishable food which goes off, so they'll end up chucking it in the bin because it's gone off.

That's what happened during Covid, what they could not cram into their fridge freezers they fly tipped in the street tonnes of wasted food

A country that imports 95% of its winter tomatoes is more likely to suffer shortages if imports are disrupted than one that imports 40% of its winter tomatoes. Regardless of whether they are in the EU, or not. Your welcome..

FWIW here is Tesco's - Tesco's in Ballina, County Mayo, Ireland. Who famously never left the EU.
