She never said that specifically. She was aiming at the Tory government. If you can adamantly claim she was not referring to the government, then PROVE with unequivocal evidence WHO SHE WAS referring to. I said that she WAS referring to the government . Try to keep up.

But that is the Prime Minister and his cabinet. Not much different from what I say she said No Steve . We must include the back bench Tories. Otherwise a Tory cabinet minister would cease to be scum at the point where they return to the back benches and back benchers would instantly become scum if they were to become ministers . We are going to have to disagree on that 'The government' is those that govern the country IE the PM, secretaries and ministers of state and the civil servants they control. The other MPs of the same party have no governmental power. Rayner's comments show it was that inner group she was having a go at

It is your chosen position. Thanks for your clarification on "by association" which is a suggestion, an opinion, not a fact. It’s a fact. Something that a real psychologist would know . By calling the government scum she would be insulting the people who facilitated them. Grow up. There’s not much time left . Only in your limited thinking.

That would mean that a backbencher becomes scum the moment that they ministers and stopped being scum when they returned to the back benches . You are making excuses to save face . You are deliberately ignoring the reality of what she said .

No if she was referring to THE GOVERNMENT, it is to those who are in government not to their predecessors or their replacements.

If you have unequivocal proof that she meant this then post it . If not don’t waste my time .

In the world between your ears the people who elected scum into office might not have any association with those scum but in the real world that is as ridiculous as your posts . If you have unequivocal proof that people who elected scum into government have no association with that scum then post it . Otherwise don’t waste my time .

This is the Labour party we're talking about.

Had her apologists on this forum claimed that she was too dim to understand what she actually said then perhaps I might agree but they insist on framing her rant to excuse it altogether.

That is how confused the mess between your ears is. Now we have an answer to another example of your limited thinking. The individual members of the government referred to, remain "scum" in terms of the comment aimed at them, for ever, no matter where they are, even after they leave parliament. You can only miss the obvious because of your apparent need to be right, even when you are wrong.

Thankfully they're unconvincing and only damaging their own reputation by spinning it to suit themselves. The fact that she, who is in a position where she could be managing the country oneday, refers to her opposition as "scum" is cause alone for dismissal. There is no justification at this level.
