The European Union, and sometimes the larger EEA ( European Economic Area ) is frequently regarded as one economy by The World Bank, the IMF, the UN and reference sources such as the CIA World Fact Book, because it virtually is one economy, the worlds largest, oldest and most successful Single Market and Customs Union. Most manufacturers and exporters in the CBI hope that Keir Starmer will at least harmonise UK regulations with EU regulations, which ( according to them ) will make 70% of doing business with the EU much easier, with less red tape and delays. Perhaps you could explain that to Greece, Italy and several other countries who, if they did well, would mightily upset Germany and the rest of Western Europe, you know, those countries who succeed by keeping others down.

Toreador ... Sorry to dissapoint you, but if there were to be a referendum tomorrow in Greece on membership of the EU, the Remain camp would win by a big majority, even after everything the Greeks went through.
The EU is a club of equals, and its a fact that no one member can dictate the odds
The reason why Greece got into so much fiscal / debt trouble was because the Greek government did not stay within the fiscal parameters (rules) of the Eurozone. The crisis was sparked by a loss of confidence on world markets, and growing debt costs.

LINK: CIA Fact Book ( List of countries by Foreign Direct Investment ) probably the most referenced source of economic, political and demographic information in the world. web.archive.org/web/20201224025625/https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/rankorder/2198rank.htmlThe Almanac is updated weekly - and it shows the latest accurate figures for FDI which are mostly from 2017 and 2016. The European Union is top of the table, beating both the United States and the UK in terms of foreign investment, the UK has lost its second place, now held by The Netherlands. Important to note: That the list does not include Stocks held by foreign investors, which would put the UK even further down the table. Also ... this is a "Snap Shot" of FIVE YEARS AGO, and we know that the UK has lost out even further to nations within the EU and the EU in general, and this is as a direct result of leaving the Single Market. So you are now combining the economies of 27 different countries to show that the UK is not top - OK. I did note that the UK was above Germany in your list..

And I bet the satelites will know the correct time unlike the crap produced in the EUSSR...... Lockheed Martin plans UK satellite factory in boost for British space industry Story by Howard Mustoe • 10h ago Defence giant Lockheed Martin plans to build its first satellite factory outside the US on British soil in a boost to the growing space industry. The US company has been scouting out suppliers in the Newcastle area, where Britain has an existing hub of space companies. Lockheed Martin, known for its F-35 fifth-generation warplanes, sees the UK as a growing market for the sector thanks to spaceports in Cornwall and Shetland that offer local launch capabilities. It is willing to make an investment that could bring 2,000 jobs to the UK if the Government opens up the next phase of its £6bn Skynet military communications programme to competitive bidding, according to UK chief Paul Livingston. Satellites for the Skynet network are currently made by Airbus and a new batch is soon to be ordered for the newest iteration of the programme. Lockheed Martin’s investment in a new facility in Britain is not contingent on winning the bid, said Mr Livingston, but the UK must show it is open to other suppliers, he added. “We're looking at the business case right now and I want to know for certain that the UK is going to compete,” Mr Livingston added. “There's two phases, there's deciding it's a competition, and then there's deciding who's won. If we wait until we've won, to put a spade in the ground, we won't deliver the satellites on time.” link

If in the future when things are designed and built enough to carry a comms satellite into working orbit, I have to ask why the UK is spending billions reinventing the wheel. The EU already had them circling the earth and helping us get from A to B every day.

And a bloody good boost for UK industry.....I can Remember when you tried to make out Rolls Royce in the USA was American owned when they won the lucrative order of supplying and building the engines for the mighty B52 fleet.....Any excuse to see the negative for this country and you and the other UK traitors are there in a flash.....We are so much better now we are free of the EUSSR's clutches......Onwards and upwards for the UK from now on despite the arseholes who want to destroy our country and see our lives controlled by a faceless unaccountable bunch of areseholes in Brussels.

B52 will use the F130 engine produced by the German subsidiary of Rolls Royce bought in 1995.
No direct benefit to the British economy.

Whichever your allegation is false see post 515 here The B52 work by RR is as I said being done in Reston Va USA. That's not the same as ownership and I never claimed such. The crisis was sparked by a loss of confidence on world markets, and growing debt costs. It's complicated. The thing is that Greece is actually a good fit for EU membership - but NOT for membership of the Eurozone. It was joining the EU that has bankrupted Greece but the weird thing is that the Greeks actually like the euro - but hate the EU (and many of the other countries/states in the EU). As for why Greece got into trouble it was not a matter of "not staying within the fiscal parameters of the Eurozone" - they were never even close to those parameters. But the EU wanted them to join so they fudged it. And the reason why Greece is basically now bankrupt is because they were trading with a currency that is about 40% overvalued. The Euro is controlled by Germany and they're trading with a currency that is about 20% undervalued. So Germany are making out like bandits while those countries who are trying to trade with an overvalued currency are struggling. The Eurozone needs fiscal union but the member states will never agree.

You lied as the link I gave absolutely proves. You seem to have this deranged belief you make up false stories about anyone and anything and get away with posting them up without it being exposed. Well loser of the day you got shown up and then were stupid enough to draw attention to your dishonesty. Well done.
