Has the NI protocol been solved?

predictably the DUP and ulster loyalists dont seem very happy about rishi the remainer selling them down the river. I did say to you at first , when the tories were quick out the blocks trying to sell windsor as some wonderfull deal , that the loyalists would sit back and take their time going over it with a magnifyng glass to see the small print. Here we are.

Everybody knows , there are only two solutions to the northern ireland protocol. Either the ruk rejoins the eu in some form , which probably will happen under a starmer led government , or they have a border poll to decide wether they want to be part of brexit uk or rejoin the republic and the eu.

Thats it. Thats the choice. All this faffing about with windsor frameworks is laughable , especially for the tory party. It makes them look weak , the uk international clout such as it is has taken a battering with the world seeing who the boss is , and the pot in northern ireland keeps simmering away.

All for westmisnter delusions of grandeur ,to hold onto a province of an island you lost 100 years ago , where half the popualtion in the province and growing dont want you , and the majority support the eu , not to mention the £12 billion cost per annum.

That made me laugh. Wasnt it De Gaulle who said that there isnt a treaty in history the english havent broken and broken twice over?

im not sure about the deluded bit. How much time have you spent on this forum trying to spin the tories shafting of northern ireland over the protocol by pretending there is nothing to see there , so we have to move on ?

The fact is boris johnson signed the northern irish over to the EU  , the first british prime minister in history to give over a part of the yookay to a foreign power without so much as a shot being fired in defence of the realm , then sunak further rubbed salt in the wound.

As i said , all this carry on to save face , when a simple call from the S.O.S for N. I could have set the path for a border poll post 2017 when unionism lost control of stormont for the first time in a century.

Keep hearing no one in england cares about northern ireland.........then we watch the anglo elite spend so much time and effort trying to keep a fingerhold on the province yet no one can explain what for? You look incredibly weak and a total embarressment.

Its costing you more than the annual membership of the EU to hold onto a province you tell us you want the republic to take off your hands ?

By the way.....Eire is the gaidhlig name for the entire island of ireland , not just the republic .
