Its obviously news to you , because you denied earlier that all 1.8 million northern irish uk citizens had the right to eu citizenship . With all rights and priviliges pertaining to that citizenship.
You know as i keep mentioning , that brexit was supposed to have stripped all uk citizens of eu citizenship etc , but didnt in norn ireland.
7 years on and we still dont have a full uk wide brexit , with all brexiter red lines established. God, it's like talking to a 4 year old. UK citizens in NI are not EU citizens - if they become foreign citizens then they will have other rights. dear god , we have already established numerous times now uk citizens , in northern ireland , have the right to hold both british and irish passports , ie they dont become foreign citizens as they hold a british passport.......am i being slow enough for you.....and can access eu citizenship. They are not foreign citizens. Repeat after me.

So - Jews have the right to hold an Israeli passport. The point at hand is that if you become a foreign citizen you gain whatever rights that foreign citizenship entails. The only way that any UK Citizen in NI can become an EU citizen is to acquire the citizenship of an EU member State.
FFS - it's not that hard.

I thought you told me earlier in the thread people in northern ireland always had the right to irish nationality , through the irish parliaments 1956 irish nationality act? Now you tell me they need to "acquire" citizenship of an eu member state as though that wipes out their british nationality?
Dual citizenship means exactly that , you can be both british and in this case an irish EU citizen at the same time. One doesnt wipe out the other.
The northern irish protocol endorses the terms of the good friday agreement. That international agreement allows the people of northern ireland to be british irish or both. All 1.8 million uk citizens in northern ireland have the right to eu citizenship and all rights pertaining to that.
The northern irish protocol is the mechanism for continuing those rights after brexit , which sets northern ireland apart fro mthe rest of the uk . If you think otherwise , prove it?

Meanwhile two thirds of the northern irish support the province continuing as part of the eu and citizenship rights as endorsed by the protocol , but unsurprisingly three quarters of dup voters reject it.

No - you still don't understand. UK Citizens in NI are not EU Citizens - they might become EU Citizens if they acquire a foreign citizenship. It's not that hard.

No - you still don't understand. UK Citizens in NI are not EU Citizens - they might become EU Citizens if they acquire a foreign citizenship. It's not that hard. People born in Northern Ireland are generally considered British citizens by birth under the British Nationality Act 1981 if one of their parents was either a British citizen or legally settled in the UK at the time of their birth. However, such individuals can choose to identify as Irish, British, or both, and have the right to hold both British and Irish" EU" citizenship. These rights are known as the ‘birthright’ provisions for the people of Northern Ireland as established by the Belfast/Good Friday agreement.

And what about UK citizens living in NI who were not born in NI? As I said (repeatedly) The only way that any UK Citizen in NI can become an EU citizen is to acquire the citizenship of an EU member State.

Its like reality stares you in the face , you throw in the latest lame diversion , then go back and reiterate what has been proven wrong over and over.

They are not EU Citizens and do not have a right to Irish citizenship. So we are back to the same old point that you keep running away from - a UK Citizen in NI can only become an EU citizen by acquiring the citizenship of an EU member state. just admit you made a mistake and move on mate..

- a UK Citizen in NI can only become an EU citizen by acquiring the citizenship of an EU member state. How many times do we need to keep repeating that northern ireland has special eu status and citizenship rights.?
Your false argument is predicated on northern irish citizens being de fault british citizens , and then having to acquire a foreign citizenship . That isnt the case. The GFA makes clear there is no de fault british citizenship in northern ireland.

What is a Northern Irish Citizen? - do they get a passport? - do they have their own embassy? - how about a seat at the UN?. To cover up your embarrassment you are now reduced to inventing nationalities.. And as for this nonsense... Well that will be news to the people of Northern Ireland..

In summary this is just one big Thomas sulk, "because those nasty English people"..... i cant help it if your fellows dont understand northern ireland , the GFA or the protocol , and are terribly upset a number of tory prime ministers have sold a part of the uk down the road , and allowed the EU to annex it.
Seven years on , and the kippers carry on sulking in a huff that brexit hasnt fully been delivered because of those nasty european peoples...............
