If anything the total cost is likely under-estimated. This initiative likely didn't come from someone who had a proper job providing a needed service, it more likely came from highly trained diversity specialists on between 75k - 150k a pop. who knows, for me even the £7,500 was a waste. How the hell can a few signs cost £7,500 We had a 30mtr x 6Mtr sign designed and fitted for £10,700. |

Who knows? - perhaps every sign has to be blessed by a cultural representative from each oppressed minority I know you like to make everything about foreigners but in this case it will most likely be 'elf and safety' In London if you want to make a hole in the road to connect your water it costs £1,500 just to have an approved firm put some red fencing and signs around where you are going to dig. |

Not ONE black person objected to that street name, in fact it is mainly black people pissed off by it, they would far prefer their LABOUR run COUNCIL would spend £100,000 on far more important things, I feel sorry for black people having these loony lefties exploiting them for political gain, the black people are well and truly starting to realise they are being used by Labour and the loony lefties for political gain.
It's disgraceful, Labour will stoop to any low level to gain a leg up the political ladder and jump a point or two up in the polls.

Good point. But I struggle to see how the ethnic extortion ring would effect the cost of road signs. And more importantly the cost of just about everything a bloody council does. That is definitely the gods of health and safety. I wonder how many councillors get bungs from the limited number of licensed companies that carry out jobs you need a 'special license' for. Why do you even need a special license to put red fencing around a hole in the road. If you can have building inspectors to check buildings are being put up safely it can't be impossible to have an inspector to sign off a red fence. Mind you a council building inspector costs us £800 for two 10 minute visits. |

The £7500 for the sign sounds a little on the high side, but at least it is actually a service of some nature. Those signs are (presumably) iron-mongered, near custom jobs and the overall market isn't going to be very large (1 sign per street every century?). On the other hand, you seemed quite keen to wave away the notion of 100k PA diversity consultants. So we have, on the one hand, 100k PA for doing nothing at all, and on the other, 7.5k for making a one off iron-mongered sign. Btw - haven't we discussed public sector waste previously? I'm of the opinion that you could probably massively reduce the cost of public sector without removing any actual services - this is why |
