What's "indefensible" about JD or what he says? Hyperbole alert. He already has defended me in at least one other thread anyway, not that I'm here to either defend or be defended by anyone, I call it as I see it (although I appreciate it when people do defend me when I'm in the right).
I like JD and much of what he says, and he tends to be right most of the time. That is somehow defending the indefensible by defending his fair arguments. How odd.

All you are doing is reinforcing the FACT that Scotland has a bigger problem than us. No matey all I am doing his highlighting the fact you are in denial. Totally blinkered and cannot accept you are being taken for a mug and paying for it. This one pipe on its own, and I will put the link again spewed out more raw sewage in the 50 hours it did so deliberately. Than the entire Scottish problem by accident over 5 years. Then add on the rest. And by the way that one seven foot diameter pipe does it time after time. It is there for that reason, because the water authority cannot cope and its cheaper. It is not an offence in England. And the share holders will get very upset if the problem is sorted,.. costing them money. That is happening all round the English coast. And now affecting the French beaches. You have had the link. For your info. Some 900,000 hours of human sewage and rainwater flow into English rivers in just one year. That is more than the entire Scottish problem in five years. Just into rivers. Below Sussex and hampshire into the sea. God knows the amount in one day. So stop waffling drivel.
