Why would I need to prove a negative, you prove he did lie here.

I'll start the list. 1. There are weapons of mass destruction in Iraq pointing straight at us. Blair was not a weapons inspector, he could not and did not claim WMD existed in Iraq in his own right. He stated that his comments were based upon information given to him by the Intelligence Agency. That same Agency, in 2004, posted an acceptance that they got it wrong on WMD in Iraq. I brought peoples attention to it with a report in a newspaper, possibly the Guardian, I posted on a previous forum.

I brought peoples attention to it with a report in a newspaper, possibly the Guardian, I posted on a previous forum. Hans Blix was a weapons inspector, He said How much, if any, is left of Iraq's weapons of mass destruction and related proscribed items and programmes? So far, UNMOVIC has not found any such weapons, only a small number of empty chemical munitions, which should have been declared and destroyed. Another matter - and one of great significance - is that many proscribed weapons and items are not accounted for. To take an example, a document, which Iraq provided, suggested to us that some 1,000 tonnes of chemical agent were "unaccounted for". One must not jump to the conclusion that they exist. However, that possibility is also not excluded. If they exist, they should be presented for destruction. If they do not exist, credible evidence to that effect should be presented. 5,000 deaths from Sarin gas. I'd call that WMD

The report says. __"Chilcot says. But because Blair presented his conclusions in parliament, and in an executive summary of the underlying JIC report, Blair's beliefs had a distorting effect on the actual facts inside the report — which said Iraq did not have WMD. The report does not outright say that Blair lied about the intelligence. But it does say the information delivered to the public was "not an accurate description of the intelligence" given to him. 1. NO REPORT stated before the invasion that Iraq did not have WMD. That statement could not be made because the UN Inspectors had never been given full cooperation by Saddam. Which was confirmed both in UN Res. 1441, and in Blix's comment to the UK Attorney General on the 7th March 2003 that Saddam was in breach of 1441, which required full and pro active cooperation with UN Inspectors meaning with the Ceasefire agreement. 2. In other words Chilcott's comments were his opinions. I watched Chilcott being questioned by a select committee, he was a weakling being led by a clearly Anti-War leader of the committee, with words being put in to his mouth. I would think that select committee meeting could be raised by anyone wishing to see it. That Blair was in favour of the invasion is not in dispute. Blix's own words played a part, in that he commented after Saddam had supposedly destroyed all his WMD that the number destroyed did not match the receipts he had for the materials for both missiles and chemicals. 50 of the original WMD were found by the American Survey Group that followed up after the invasion. They were useless by the time they were found, but they proved that Saddam never intended to comply with the Ceasefire agreement of 1991, and that was despite numerous UN resolution requiring him to comply. As Saddam never complied with the Ceasefire agreement then a state of war still existed.

For me it was never really about whether Saddam had WMD but about stopping a mad dictator from torturing and killing any more of his countrymen.
See if you can find the testimony from Saddam's driver its not something you will want to read twice.

Iraq under Saddam Hussain started a war with Iran, which is estimated to have killed at least a million people, including 100,000 civilians.
Iraq under Saddam Hussain saw widespread torture, and the mass killings of anyone who opposed him, or who was suspected of opposing his regime.
The worst single attrocity committed by Saddam Hussain was the chemical bombing of Halabja which instantly killed thousands of people, and affected thousands more, many are still suffering today.
Saddam Hussain attacked Kuwait and caused huge damage to the economy and infastructure of that nation, he bombed Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Israel.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------- Do I worry that the UK joined a war to topple the Iraqi regime ... No ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q. Are there any decent Tories left?
I don't think there are any proper Tories left, but what is left is a mish mash of sleaze.

No --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yes and we supported him at the time,Rumsfeld even helped him get hold of the Gas then blamed Iran. That support quickly dwindled when it became apparent that Saddam's claims about Iran's intentions were baseless. Saddam followed the classical path of all dictators. Start of popular and does a lot of good Begins to lose popularity and becomes oppressive. Starts a war to blame shortages on a common enemy Removes the right to democratic vote Turns to murder and torture to keep hold of power.
