It wouldn't surprise me. So no answer to reality then? Thanks for clearing that one up for us all. That you have no idea what net zero means. You're welcome.

They'll be Labour supporters. Most of them are actually right wingers, yourself being another example. At a mere 57 I am positively youthful compared to most around here. Is this forum some kind of virtual care home? lol Being younger in years, is no guarantee of intellectual ability.

Makes you wonder if our generation will be remembered as the most selfish ever. The most alienated from our young since the 1950's. There is indeed a growing divide between the over 60s and under 30s, the former often having little clue about how tough life is today for the latter, having themselves as a generation in large numbers voted for people who took away from future generations what they had. This self hatred reminds me of the self hatred expressed by white people regarding slavery . It’s not a rational view . I suspect it reflects a lack of achievement in themselves .

Nonsense, no government is as ridiculous as you make out. Net Zero is the eventual aim, it will not be forced on society creating the damage you claim. No government would do such a thing. According to Starmer, if Labour are elected hitting net-zero by 2030 is an 'absolute priority'. He is as mad a Corbyn. Even if your claim is true it doesn't change the reality that no government would completely screw up the country in the hope of meeting net zero. It is your thinking that is as mad as Corbyn.

That doesn’t say much for Starmer though. He is either outright lying or is delusional .

I've told you why he's coming out with that trash, he's gerrymandering for the young vote, he'll just have to hope it doesn't backfire in the same way Cameron tried it for the referendum.

Is this forum some kind of virtual care home? lol Being younger in years, is no guarantee of intellectual ability. Indeed not. But judging by some of those on this forum neither is being older in years. Intelligence exists in all age groups. As does stupidity. But I cannot help but notice that most of the climate change denialists are older people, demonstrating that age can be a factor in some forms of stupidity. I know that that does not apply to you because you are not a climate change denier, but it evidently does to a few around here.

Targets are not absolutes they are just something one aims for.

No. Its always been the case that the older you get the less you can adapt to change. Old people struggled to adapt to homosexuality in the 60's. Now older people struggle with non binary whereas the young are not bothered at all. It also seems the older, fartier and conservative the person is the more they rail against the changes in the world around them.

It's a big swizz we could have produced and invested in lots of renewable energy sources, but we've been bought off by the Arabs and other wealthy investors, no one gets wealthy off 'free' or renewable energy, who's going to make maga bucks sourcing free energy from the Sun, no one owns the sun and no one has rights to the sun, so lets not go there. We did - that is why energy prices are so high.. Apparently solar roof panels are making a come back, and we know they harvest energy from the sun. It's fed back in to the home, and can even generate extra income.
It never took off the way it should have because the energy giants don't want us having cheap energy, and they certainly don't want us having any returns on it.
It's taken off again, and maybe the government can start handing out grants, instead of stinging the customers with green taxes on our bills, that is just a stealth tax by the backdoor.

A mixture of the decreased cost of buying them and the increased cost of electricity is leading a boom.

So: 1, How do you think net zero would destroy the planet? 2, Why is it impossible to reach net zero? If nothing else I'm hoping you will have to look it up so you don't make the same gaff in the future.
