The masks were the focus against catching COVID and other precautions such as only touching goods that you were going to buy were not particularly adhered to . my retired neighbour used to literally wash down his food delivery from the supermarket , while wearing his hazmat suit , became a hermit , but still caught covid.......... |

As soon as masks became mandatory I noticed that most people failed to stay 2 meters apart except in queues. The masks were the focus against catching COVID and other precautions such as only touching goods that you were going to buy were not particularly adhered to . totally agree. Remember though all the lies we were told.
First we didnt need masks , you got it by touch , then we did need masks you didnt get it by touch.
Then get vaccinated to save elderly aunt from transmission.
Then getting vaccinated didnt stop transmission and elderly aunt , stuck like a pin cushion and masked up 24 7 still caught covid .
Anyone pointing out the discrepancies , and tossing and turning were fobbed off with excuses .
Then who actually had covid? When jor bloggs was knocked down and killed in a road traffice accident , we were told he tested positive for covid two days earlier ,so it was a covid death.
I mean FFS. Does anyone actually still believe this shite?
Coronavirus was real , and natural ,and as we have seen nothing could be done about it.
Until everyone caught it and a measure of herd immunity was gained by various populations , which is what i understand china are having issues with currently while the rest arent..........

There was a Long Covid expert on Farage yesterday, Dr Tina Peers, who said that masks were useless. The Virus was 5 microns whereas the holes were 600 microns. I suppose a bit like stopping footballs going through holes the size of penalty boxes.  No Dr Tina Peers is a Menopause and Reproductive Health expert NOT a Long Covid expert. The air gaps in most masks are about 600 microns - but the virus is 5 microns. And it's airborne. The only masks worth getting are the expensive ones with special air vents and impermeable material. It's not about filtering the virus out, it's about preventing the air flow bearing virus particles becoming prominent enough to project them. Think about air viscosity and how much puff it takes to get any flow through a 600 micron grill. |

I saw yesterday in the local super market the number of people who were waring masks had increased considerably and the good old woke GP surgeries here are now making masks mandatory yet again.

Mrs R and I were in town yesterday, and today ffs but that's another story. We noticed a few people wearing face masks, but not many. Given what's been in the news recently I expected most people to revert to mask wearing, but not so, at least not in our neck of the woods. Personally speaking I never wore a mask before unless I absolutely had to, walking around a supermarket for instance, and the moment I was out of the store the mask was off. My attitude is, if you want to wear a mask go for it. But mask wearing should not be compulsory. PS; have I lost the plot or is this thread duplicated? |

No-one has ever claimed that masks will prevent the spread of infection on their own, but they will - and provably do - LESSEN the spread of infection (along with distancing, handwashing, etc). And concerning farage's "Expert in Long Covid".. The most cursory check shows that Dr Peers is actually a specialist in menopause. It's a little like asking a dermatologist for an opinion about a broken leg. (But then, farage isn't a real journalist - he's only going to talk with someone who tells him what he wants to hear.) |
