Way back in the sixties nearly every ambulance driver in my districe was gay and even the women who drove the hospitality pick-ups were mainly lesbian. |

The government wasn’t and isn’t a leave government . It is just a government. Im surprised that you are not praising the government for trying to improve diversity within the NHS with great vigour . You know, if Britain had not been such a racist and discriminatory place from the start of large scale immigration, late 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, then such targets would never have existed.
What "positive discrimination" does, is put right a wrong, an inbalance, like for example a time not that long ago when there were no MPs or judges from minority groups, virtually no police officers, lawyers or famous or prominent people from minorities.
Thankfully our NHS has a very large proportion of professionals of Commonwealth origin, particularly from the Indian sub continent, many are now third and fourth genereation British, and if it were not for these doctors within our NHS, it would quite simply colapse - thank goodness for them, and thank goodness they came here.
