UFO reporting didn't start until mankind was in the early days of space exploration. Why is that? Where were the visits from little green men in the 19th century or earlier? Before the idea of space travel when a strange light was seen in the sky it was thought to be angels or other supernatural beings. There were no stories of people abducted by aliens, instead people were taken by fairies. People will always invent something to explain away what they don't understand. That's how we ended up with gods. Saying that, I wouldn't rule out the possibility of Dubs being away with the fairies. Didn’t it start with the foo fighters during WW2? |

Evidence isn't something the conspiracy theorist community deals with. Wild, baseless, make-believe stories are their currency whilst holding everyone else to scrutiny via the lense of their pseudo-science. Exactly. And that worked extremely well for those testing advanced experimental highly classified aircraft at Groom Lake because it resulted in the actual projects taking place there not being taken seriously.  |

I've noticed Vinny is relying on the boring bird-like design. The hovering flying saucers or space orbiting blimps haven't got a mention on this thread, despite sighting reports.

Apparently, the UFO is found in renaissance art and even cave drawings. I believe the Foo Fighter is treated as a lighting anomaly, which still lacks a scientific explanation. |

People are too busy texting on their smart phones to look up? Plus, what does reliable images mean in this day and age? Even close up metal ray renders of difficult human faces can look genuine.

The Nazca lines are fascinating, but it has long been the way of religious people to believe that God / Gods are up there. It is entirely possible that they were made for religious reasons.
It would be amazing if there were extraterrestrial travel possibilities and that in a very short space of time it were possible to cross space.
NASA have postulated that the Alcubierre drive might be able to, however the energy requirements are enormous and a number of scientific drawbacks exist with warp drive theory.

Gods and UFO’s are just rebranded versions of the same thing.
People not understanding the natural universe often seek shortcuts to answers - it’s far easier to say ‘God was angry and tossed down a thunderbolt’, or ‘light in the sky’ must have been an alien, than it is to actually come to understand the truth.
Personally I just think the entire endeavour undermines human ingenuity and when we can stop fighting, as a race, what we’re really capable of.
It also strikes me as hugely convenient that it also started around the same time experimental aircraft were being tested and if I was CIA, letting the plebs gossip about UFO’s instead of top secret aircraft is exactly what I’d encourage.

I live in Britain. I work in the private sector. I've been friends with a UFO spotter. I've been UFO spotting with him. Funnily enough though, after getting my eyes tested, and getting glasses, I never saw another at night. Seen the international space station whizz across the sky from time to time though.
