Every illegal that lands on an English beach comes from France.
France has everything to do with it.
France has no more responsibility for them than the UK or any other country they have passed through. Including Italy, Germany, Luxembourg, Estonia and others.
Look on a map to see where an Afghan or Syrian refugee would have to pass.
This idea you have about it being France's problem lis a media inspired trope turned into a hive mind rallying call, often confirming unconscious cultural bias.
Any country has the sovereign right to refuse entry to any of its territory. It is up to that country to enforce that and we should stop dumping the issue at the door of the nearest neighbouring country.
For more than a decade the EU encouraged mass immigration from the rest of the world, they welcomed every economic migrant, gangster, terrorist and people smuggler to a borderless Europe. They opened job centres in Africa, and Merkel famously announced 'Wir schaffen das', we can manage. And when it became obvious even to her that flooding Europe with millions of migrants was a huge mistake she had the bloody gall to say she wished she could turn the clock back. Merkel and others should be prosecuted for crimes against Europe. Instead they will quietly retire into a life of tax payer funded luxury.
You claim EU states can refuse to accept migrants. You are wrong. It is against EU law to do so, EU states are not sovereign they are governed from Brussels, EU law is supreme. This is the problem with you Europhiles, you don't understand the EU. In 2020 the European Court of Justice found The Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland, all EU states, guilty of failing to comply with EU law by refusing to accept mandatory quotas of 'asylum seekers'.
The EU are wholly and totally to blame for the migrant crisis in Europe and for the thousands of illegals who cross the channel from the EU state of France to England. If the UK government had any balls they would take legal action against the EU and the EU state of France for allowing people traffickers to freely operate under the noses of EU/French authorities who look the other way as illegals drag dinghies down beaches in broad daylight.
