Kate dedicates her 'very special' festive carol service to the late Queen, paying tribute to former monarch's 'incredible legacy' which 'deeply inspired many of us' and saying Christmas Day will feel 'very different' www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11567705/Princess-Wales-tells-special-carol-service-tribute-Queen.htmlI'm a bit of a royalist simply because it's part of our tradition but we need to slim it down a bit. Now, what was Liz's "incredible legacy" ? I can't see much sign of it. I certainly wasn't inspired to do anything by her and I can't see how Christmas Day will be different apart from the fact Charlie will doing the speaking. Does anyone know anyone who was inspired by Liz to do anything?

Unfortunately not over the last few years. The feel on the street is now common swearing, illegal drugs and child exploitation, undefined gender and sexuality, music to commit crimes to, ripped clothes, warfare and libel by text, and a clear decline in moral and personal standards. I doubt her example will live much longer. A pity.

Thats quite an assessment of a society thats breaking down, and spot on oracle. I think i know Morgan. The queen is an ISFJ apparently, from the Myers Briggs personality assessment site, its on the web if your interested. It was developed by Carl Jung, who was a gifted psychiatrist. I have identified my type at its spot on, and i have learnt how to manage myself much better.
My partner is an isfj, so i have some insight. ISFJs are family orientated, they are the hidden workhorses that toil behind the scenes, tirelessly. They are family orientated, and will do anything to keep a family and partner happy, and are very practical, esoteric thinking is not a strength.
The Queen is admired for her stoicism and dedication to duty, she is a perfect fit for a queen. Her selflessness rating is 10 out of 10, as all isfjs are.

We're in the realm of words used for their feel more than their meaning, and the "incredible legacy which deeply inspired many of us" is just the sort of thing that gets said when people want to sound portentous but haven't actually got very much to say.

In a way you are right, the Queen was just doing what her genes were telling her. Isfjs never rebel and remain in the background. What makes her remarkable to an observer is that she never rebelled or expressed independant thought on anything. She sacrificed any form of self expression for being dutiful, to an observer amazing.
And it is, i couldnt do it, could you? To her, it was a perfect fit, and she was never expected to think, not an isfj strong point. The whole point of being Royal is that you give up any semblance of a normal life, completely.
There is no going to the pictures tonight and a burger.
Duty indeed, and deserves admiration. The royals are in a way, like long term psychiatric patients, who are institutionalised, and are lost without life in a hospital.

Well, I’m a royalist in the sense if we were a republic Tony Blair would get the seat in buck house and that needs to be prevented.
So from my angle, what I see is this …
The new arse on the throne is fifty years older than his mum was when she took his new job. So sheer probability says he’ll be gone and Camilla sidelined sooner rather than later and her other half doing his dad’s current job and she’ll be holding his hand
Given the crap being spewed by Ginger and his actress bride across the pond, why WOULDN’T the woman who will be taking Prince Philips job sooner rather than later say nice things about her recently departed grandmother in law who let’s be honest most of the royalist camp have fond memories of.
I really don’t see anything more than that

Shouldn't leave a woman in charge though.

Does anyone know anyone who was inspired by Liz to do anything? How old are you Morgan? I'm guessing you were born after 1953, in which case you grew up with the Queen, as I did. The Queen trooping the colour, the Queen at remembrance, the Queens birthday parade, the Queens Christmas message etc etc, the Queen was a part of life. Perhaps more for me than for a peasant like you. She was the most famous and recognised person in the world, people from all over the world visited London just to see Buckingham Palace, where according to the average tourist, the Queen of England lived. Getting back to your question, I'm glad she was my Queen, I'm glad I was around to see most of her reign. She was a global icon and was respected around the world which is why when she died, flags around the world flew at half mast. But the Queen didn't inspire me to do anything, I'm just proud to have been British during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. I assume you expected something in return.
