The only fraud I know of is a lady who has been disabled for about 30 years, ever since an unsecured filing cabinet fell on her at work. Someone at the DWP fraudulently altered her renewal form so she didn't qualify. Fortunately she'd photocopied the form before she sent it back and was able to prove it had been altered. Of course, no one at the DWP admitted the fraud or faced sanctions but the lady had her benefit restored. They haven't queried her claims since. And that story is true.

I knew somebody who was left waiting for their giro for so long that they ended up eating their own foot. They're now claiming for disability money. |
