At least three people have died after a migrant boat capsized in the English Channel in the early hours of Wednesday. Sources confirmed 43 people were rescued, including more than 30 who were pulled from the freezing waters. It is feared the death toll will continue to rise. The inflatable boat is believed to have capsized around five miles off Dungeness shortly after setting off from the coast of northern France www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/rescue-mission-migrant-boat-capsizes-english-channel-rnli-france-coastguard-b1047055.htmlThe only question I have is why were the illegals who were rescued not returned to the safe EU state of France?

Probably because they were in our waters, quickest treatment for hypothermia here in the UK , I wish I knew the answer to this never ending problem

Probably because there wouldn’t be emergency services and hospitals at the ready plus a few million lefty bleeding hearts in France .

Reports vary as to where the dinghy was. According to a BBC report it was 12 miles from Dover, which would put it just about on the French/British border. But no French help was available apparently. Most of them seem to have been rescued by a Cornish trawler that just happened to be in the vicinity.
But they should have been taken to France IMO. We now have to bear the cost of hospital treatment for about 40 illegals who should never have been allowed to leave France. And all the rest. Why can't our politicians solve this? Spineless.

We now have to bear the cost of hospital treatment for about 40 illegals who should never have been allowed to leave France. And how do you propose to prevent people leaving France? The geography (many, many kilometres of seafront, often bordered with dune areas), sneakiness of traffickers (they may be exploitative filth, but they're not stupid), and basic practicality (it's not like you can lay barbed wire across beaches, or build a fence). (Years ago, when the lorry parks there were first ringed with steel fencing, it was suggested to a family of would be Asylum Seekers in "the jungle" at Dunkerque that they try getting to Roscoff - where port security seemed, at that time, to be practically non-existent. They made it safely to Britain within days.) While it seems obvious to me that there should be mechanisms for making asylum claims (and appealing subsequent decisions, if necessary) in France (and elsewhere in Europe), trafficking is a separate matter, and the gangsters making fortunes out of their operations (often with the collusion of "security" officers - the vast majority of whom are private contractors on low pay) need to be dealt with.

Who here does not see that by the time they have reached the French beaches it is too late ?
The problem quite clearly is they are allowed free passage unfettered across the EU, and no EU country wants them so they are more than happy to dump them on us.
Why are French ‘patrol boats’ shadowing these criminals once detected in French waters until they become the UKs problem?
Why are they not forcing them to turn back ? They’re taking enough bloody money from us on the pretence that they will.

I listened to an item on Times Radio about this immigrant dingy capsizing. It seems a French politician named Gérald Darmanin, I believe his appointment is Minister of the Interior, was asked who's fault it was that migrants had drowned again, he said - "It's too easy for migrants to work in the UK, this is a attractive". He than added, almost as an afterthought "and Brexit of course". Although it was on the radio you could almost see him giving a gallic shrug.
As I have always said, as everyone knows, the EU/French could stop illegals putting to sea in dinghies if they wanted to, but they don't want to. This is their way of punishing the UK for leaving the EU.

Don’t be silly Red.
Our government could stop boats crossing the Channel almost overnight. They choose not to.

Your whole post was silly. I suggested you stop being silly.
I then went on to note as we are talking about boat crossings that while it would be very hard for the French government to stop boat crossings, the UK government could stop them overnight if it so chose. It chooses not to.

It chooses not to. LOL, I commented on an item I listened to this morning on Times Radio in which a French politician was asked who's fault it was that migrants had drowned again, his response was brief, he said - " It's too easy for migrants to work in the UK, this is a attractive". He than added, almost as an afterthought " and Brexit of course". I cant help noticing that as is often your MO you completely ignore the message and attack the messenger, although I have to say, an attack from you Dappy is akin to being mauled by an asthmatic kitten, who lacks confidence. I suggest you grow the fuck up or stop bothering me.

19-year-old Ibrahima Bah, 19, of no fixed address charged with facilitating attempted illegal entry into the United Kingdom after four people died and 39 were rescued when a migrant boat capsized in the Channel this week, Kent Police said. www.walesonline.co.uk/news/uk-news/19-year-old-charged-after-25782082I have every confidence that once Ibrahhima has completed three months of a two year prison sentence, left wing lawyers will spend the next five years fighting his deportation by which time he will have have impregnated some unfortunate girl, so it will be against his human rights to deport him. He will be provided with a free council flat and maximum benefits. Thanks to his publicly funded left wing lawyers, he and thousands like him are laughing at this country.
