Let's not tar everyone with the same brush as Farage. Any idea who made the complaint to the Belgian police, Doc? Well the EU failed to spot the corruption that you claim exiosted - so how much more corruption have they failed to investigate? Sounds like a right cess pit We had a lucky escape. If you don't know who reported it to the Belgian police, you don't know whether the EU failed to notice it. It might have been other Parliament members who reported it, or some other part of the EU. What percentage of the EU Parliament's 626 members have been implicated?

It's now 1.5 million Euros that the Belgian Police have seized and four are now under arrest.

It's now 1.5 million Euros that the Belgian Police have seized and four are now under arrest. As stated above. Only one is an MEP and one is a former MEP (I think). I'll ask again: what percentage of the EU Parliament is that? And at what percentage point does a political organisation become a cesspit? Below 1%?

Well yes this looks very bad But why are you so alarmed, you've been telling us for years that the EU Parliament has no power so if that was true this is much ado about nothing of consequence. Not changing your story are you?

I'm not alarmed. It's just a news story and this is a news and politics board.

What had that to do with corruption in the EU?. Farage was obviously corrupt during his time at the EU. He'd know all about it. My remark was a natural follow on from OM15's post. It's been a natural follow-on for at least a dozen unconnected posts; perhaps a shrink would help.

Do you have any thoughts on what percentage of an organisation has to be a certain persuasion before it can be described as a cesspit, Sal? Did that one lady in the Brexit party who had supported the PIRA make the Brexit party a cesspit of terrorist supporters? How, about that gay cure lady? A cesspit of bigots and nutjobs?

That was not alarm, just an observation. The best answer to corrupt politicians is the ballot box. Something ordinary voters across the world all too often cannot use. Voters in our country cannot sack members of the Lords. Voters in the EU cannot sack Commissioners.

Who involved the Begian police? I genuinely don't know. But don't you think you should hold back until it's confirmed that it wasn't the EU or an MEP?
