Bloom's argument above in a nutshell.
1) Germany rose to be a leading manufacturer because of cheap energy from Russia
2) The US blew up the pipeline and now their manufacturing is in deep shit due to having to import expensive energy from the US.
3) What the hell are we doing here in the UK messing about with the Net Zero cult which makes energy very expensive.
The thing is, as I've said previously on here, green energy is plummeting in cost and it means we have better energy security compared to the risk of external supply. So I leave a message with my thoughts.
We just made up with China and all going well our scientists can work with their scientists to come up with leading technology and we can use that to manufacture and generate cheap energy. Pull up a graph of the cost of solar power from 1970s to the present day and it will show you the future. Do the same for wind energy. The thing is green energy is undercutting energy from hydrocarbons. We need to learn how to manufacture cheaply once again. China is the expert in manufacturing right now. Our techniques are often outdated and too labour intensive.
It was an innocent and fair comment in my view. I was just trying to help, but what had Godfrey have to say about that?
