A serving Gloucestershire police officer has been arrested on suspicion of a terrorism offence.
A constable in his 30s was arrested by counter-terror police on Tuesday in Gloucester under the Terrorism Act on suspicion of providing support for a proscribed organisation, which Gloucestershire Constabulary named as Hamas.
The suspected support for the group is related to online activity, the force added.
Hamas, an Islamic militant group that operates out of Gaza, has been at war with Israel in a conflict that violently escalated after the 7 October attack last year.
Expressing support for or being a member of Hamas is illegal in the UK, where it is a designated terrorist group - as it is in the European Union and dozens of other countries, such as the United States.

They will not name him Officially until their Investigation is over, he has been bailed for now whilst it is on going, I suspect a file may have been sent to the CPS for them to decide what happens next

I wonder what his name is? I doubt the authorities will get away with claiming that a 30 year old copper cant be identified due to his age, although I suppose they could play the tried and tested mental health card. Gloucestershire police are one of the forces who were guilty of discriminating against white entrants. Maybe this chap was fact tracked through the recruitment process, in the name of diversity of course.

I wonder what his ethnicity is? I don't, and I don't think you do either.

I wonder what his ethnicity is? I don't, and I don't think you do either. Rhetorical question.
