How the mighty fall. All that fuss over Gray leaving the civil service to go and work for Labour, then five minutes into a Labour government she's gone.

She seemed to do very well after stitching up Boris over the birthday party and cake.
Hopefully she can find herself a little hobby, jam and Jerusalem on a Thursday afternoon, perhaps.

By the way...
When Starmer announced to the nation that Gray was being appointed 'envoy to the regions' he stressed how important the job was, indeed he described it as a 'vital' job.
So after Gray embarrassingly snubbed this 'vital' job, what did Starmer do? That's right, he scrapped it. Which means it was a fake job not a vital job. Starmer is a snake oil salesman.

I think everyone knew it wasnt a real job red , outside of the Labour Party bubble. she will probably given a seat in the lords if she causes any further trouble for Morgan mcsweeny.

He come up with a non job because she had served her purpose.. now he has to buy her off again , because she knows where all the Labour Party bodies are buried. So expect a lords appointment for services rendered .Labour love stuffing toadies into the lords.

Oh of course, everyone knew it was an invented bullshit job designed to appease Gray. The point is, Starmer went to some lengths to impress on us how vital the job was. It seems to me that Starmer looks stupid on a daily basis. And to think, Trump hasn't got his feet under the desk yet, I bet Starmer cant wait for that.

I confess a bit of sarcasm in my thread title Followers of Guido Fawkes will have picked up a rather different spin on this, that she tried to pull a stunt that went tits up.

Guido's take is that Starmer chucked her out in Oct and all the spiel about this other job is pure BS, but now she's got few options outside of retirement. And whatever the less public services might use her for

And whatever the less public services might use her for She lost a power struggle with McSweeney. Which given the lengths Starmer went to in order to get her out of the civil service and into the Labour party, kinda bring his judgement into question. Again.

It does occur to me she'd do wonderfully well as the new archbishop of Canterbury...
