It's been interfered with by busybodies. Each busybody thinks the teachers need to do more to improve standards. Here is what a teacher has to do in 2024 aside from teach the kids about computers, as this post is ostensibly to find someone to teach computing.
I quote in full rather than link as the link will go dead in time and I would like to emphasise the sheer quantity of crap produced by busybodies, which I'm guessing are largely female. (Oh the poor darlings could die if we don't just make sure...)
