A number of retail businesses in towns and cities round here have declared it time to shut up shop.
Arsebook seems to feature daily a post from one or other company declaring they can't meet the bills.
And while some are little more than idiots expecting to make profits from London prices on Welsh streets, some are long standing companies calling it a day
But it's not easy to pin it on Reeves'.
Some of them are at the end of their rope after two years of insane energy price rises thanks to government policy on screwing business over.
Others are wrapping it up because no one has any money to spend.
Wetherspoons is announcing cutbacks in staff, and increases in prices, for example as a direct result of NI rises making it more expensive to hire staff. But over the past three years prices have risen and portions have quite seriously shrunk, to the point they are no longer the go to place they were for cheap pub grub. And given no pub makes money on beer alone, losing those in for food is a big deal.

Instructive to compare Reeves socialist policies with Trumps rampant capitalism.. over the next 4 years the UK will get poorer whilst the US gets richer.

Nissan are shedding job numbers in Sunderland... Oh great There are other ways to ease the cost of living crisis like cutting council tax, business rates, corporation tax for small businesses, cutting income tax on low earners and raising it on high earners and graduating corporation tax so that you only pay loads if you earn loads. Labour are fucking thick as pigshit.

They're about ideology. They believe in the big state. The public sector.
They have no regard for the private sector despite us being the ones who pay the taxes to cover the cost of the public sector and the state.

According to the British Chambers of Commerce, the UK economic outlook remains weak. The BCC is forecasting rising unemployment and economic growth of just 0.2% for the whole of 2025. link
I wonder, how long before net zero mad Labour drag us into recession...

I wonder, how long before net zero mad Labour drag us into recession... As we know the Labour Party almost always leave unemployment higher than what they found it . Talking of net zero , I see the German opposition are promising to go down the nuclear route if elected and ditch renewables. Many countries are reeling from the net zero madness across Europe , not just us , although we are paying the highest electricity prices in the developed world. I think the next five years are looking grim as fuck for business across the uk , under these clowns , and I wouldn't be surprised if a major recession is on the cards very soon . I lost my job three fucking times under the last labour Westminster and Holyrood governments . I also suspect come next April when the new ENIC kicks in , at the higher rate and lower threshold ,you are going to see either a rise in unemployment , possibly even sooner , or many people being pushed onto the GIG economy. Especially in the lower paid sectors .

We have to be realistic ..
Landlords will flee with the new Renters Rights Bill & meeting the .. EPC ratings by 2030 costing landlords thousands per-property.
Farmers packing in because of the inheritance tax.
Ed Case and his net zero madness.
Business folding up because of the NI increases.
Supermarkets hiking prices because of the NI increases.
Council after Council on the brink of bankruptcy.
Business after business moving outside the UK to avoid the tax hikes.
This ^^ is just the tip of the iceberg, people will have no disposable income, and disposable income boosts growth, if people have no money left over they don't spend, they don't spend businesses go bust, especially the hospitality industry.
Is anyone going to get Rachel Reeves to one side and explain to her how economics works, it certainly wont be anyone from the Labour party, if they don't hurry up and have a word with her we are all doomed.

The EU and the UK ran at net zero like a bull at a barn door, but there are signs that the EU are having second thoughts. A few months ago the EU Commission said 'climate policies could be slowed', this was not because the EU Commission have suddenly started listening to people, perish the thought. It's because they are worried about the rise of anti immigrant anti net zero right wing parties, and they should be worried, very worried.

Reeves National Insurance tax raid forces first business to close UK factories and move abroad - 'Manufacturing in Britain will die'... A British manufacturing company has announced it will close its four factories following Labour's recent Budget changes - making it the first business to cease UK production due to the Chancellor's new policies. Connectix Cabling Systems' managing director Kevin Hancock said Rachel Reeves's national insurance tax increases and minimum wage hikes have made manufacturing in Britain unsustainable.....
