Sir Keir Starmer has come under fire over the failure to charge Mohamed Fayed with sexual assault while he was chief prosecutor. In 2008, Fayed, the then owner of Harrods, was interviewed by the Metropolitan Police under caution after a 15-year-old girl told detectives she had sexually assaulted her at the London department store. In February 2009, when Sir Keir was director of public prosecutions (DPP), the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) announced that no charges would be brought because there was “no realistic prospect of conviction”. Downing Street claims Sir Keir, who quit his role at the CPS in 2013, had no involvement in the decision. However, the Conservatives said it was “yet another instance of failure” of the organisation under his watch, after it also failed to prosecute Jimmy Savile. www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/09/19/starmer-mohamed-fayed-assault-crown-prosecution-service/Starmer was DPP, the boss of the CPS, the countries chief prosecutor. Yet today Downing Street claim he had no involvement in the decision not to prosecute Fayed. Earlier, former editor of the Sun Kelvin MacKanzie said this scandal is slowly, very slowly, unfolding...

mSir Max Hill KC, director of public prosecutions from 2018 to 2023, said there was not “sufficient evidence” to prosecute Mr Al Fayed in 2009 and 2015, adding the case did not come to his attention during his time as head of the CPS. A CPS spokesperson said: “We reviewed files of evidence presented by the police in 2009 and 2015. “To bring a prosecution the CPS must be confident there is a realistic prospect of conviction – in each instance our prosecutors looked carefully at the evidence and concluded this wasn’t the case.” In 2018, 2021 and 2023, the CPS provided early investigative advice to the Metropolitan Police following allegations made against Mr Al Fayed. However, a full file of evidence was never received by the CPS in each of these instances and they were given no further action by police. A file of evidence must be presented to the CPS by an investigating police force for it to have formal involvement in a case. www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/keir-starmer-metropolitan-police-bridget-phillipson-angela-rayner-cps-b1183392.html

Is anyone else getting the impression there were a catalogue of assaults? … and no desire by the police or CPS to facilitate prosecuting ANY of them … or even as a ‘collective’ against a serial sex pest abuser. Surely Fayed’s position, wealth and contacts never got in the way of Starmer and the Met … doing what they were paid to do … protect the General Public? Starmer is not FIT FOR OFFICE … and should be immediately removed and charged with negligence … and taking monies on ‘false pretences’ … as a Head of a CRIME PROSECUTION SERVICE … that failed in it’s duty to prosecute SERIOUS CRIMES. Which police officers were involved here? … please name names … we need to know Starmer’s accomplices … and where they are hiding now.
