1st July 2024 - Keir Starmer said he would shut down asylum seeker sites such as RAF Wethersfield linkFour months later... 4th Nov 2024 - Home Office confirms Wethersfield site is to increase its capacity to 800 - link
If ever there was a party who were unprepared government, a party who had no idea how big the job of government was, then this Labour government is it. Starmer and his 'top team' are proving to be absolute rank amateurs, a national embarrassment.

There seems a lot of "rancour"s in the Labour Party. Rachel is looking a bit harassed:

Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg has just pointed out that prior to the election shadow home secretary Yvette Cooper said government policy [On cross channel illegals] was to shout at the sea and hope it would stop. And after the election the first thing Labour did was to cancel the only deterrent we had, which was the Rwanda plan. This has resulted in record numbers of 'refugees' fleeing war torn France for hotels and the benefits system in the UK, but the hotels are full, so Starmer is increasing capacity at asylum centres that just four months ago he promised to close. As Del Boy might say, what a plonker.
