We need the modern equivalent and lots of them.

I would say that it is more likely to divert any potential Russian attacks away from Germany and towards the UK air bases . Germany isn’t across an ocean like the US . All it does is thin down defence in Germany making it more likely that we'll have to send help to them. There are after all already USAF fighter squadrons over here. Good point |

I can't quite work out what exactly has been agreed with who . NATO forces work in each others countries all the time so German submarine detector planes or whatever they are would seem a good deployment in Scotland . That Germany are also opening (not sure who's paying) munition factories in the UK and building us some tanks is surely a win win situation for the UK
On the other hand if this is an EU proposal it stinks . We left those control freaks and shouldn't be in defence talks with them .
Whatever will it mean we will need to find another verse for 'Ten German Bombers ' ?

Put the German munition factories and park up German planes in the UK .
If the Russians kick off they will attack the UK first .
