It's not meant to be funny. It's sad that you are wrong about so much yet believe you're right about everything. It's no wonder this country has so many problems with these sort of dense lunatics running around.

but there's an awful lot that stands empty. What makes this country crowded is not people per square mile its infrastructure. Roads schools parks hospitals etc I point out again that I want immigration slowed or stopped, but logic wont let me pretend things that aren't true are, and its not true that we could not release a load of land for building with "covering the country in concrete" as the rhetoric goes. Release 1% of arable land or grey land and its enough to build houses for everyone in this country who wants oneAre you able to show how you reached this conclusion? With actual verifiable figures that is.

UK car workers under threat as Nissan slashes 9,000 jobs...... Thousands of workers at Nissan’s plant in Sunderland are facing uncertainty after the Japanese car giant announced plans to scale back production and axe 9,000 jobs globally. The company on Thursday warned it was facing “a severe situation” after reducing its annual forecast for operating profits from 500bn yen (£2.5bn) to just 150bn yen.......

If you cannot get planning permission the price of the land is an irrelevance. Slow down and think for once. Yes. If you limit the land that has planning permission you force the price up on the land that does. What do you think would happen to the price of building land if they removed the need for planning permission at all. It would fall to the same price as arable land. Yes, but we still need arable land. Building on every available square metre is not viable.

And if you can, it's still prohibitive. That's the problem with land: They aren't making any more. but there's an awful lot that stands empty. What makes this country crowded is not people per square mile its infrastructure. Release 1% of arable land or grey land and its enough to build houses for everyone in this country who wants one No, it isn't because demand also grows to meet supply.
When I learned to drive, the M25 was barely a thing. Now it's the one of the most crowded roads in the UK.
If you build it, they will come.

There will always be questions about mass building of houses while there is mass immigration. People aren’t stupid enough not to understand that new immigrant equates to one more person competing for a home. Lefties have peddled the lie that we need migrants so badly that stopping or highly restricting the rate of migrants would be a catastrophe for the UK, they pushed that bullshit while we were in the EU and look where that took us . Now they have changed tack and say “ yeah, I was always against mass immigration but we can’t do much about it “ ..another lie . Imo we can’t have a significant increase in house building without addressing the migrant issue..the issue being migrants having access to housing .

Starmer has ramped up the UK’s cooperation with Europe on migration, signing three new agreements to crack down on smuggling gangs.

Indeed. Lowering the illegal migrants numbers by increasing the ‘ legal’ numbers of migrants was always on the cards with this sack of shit government.

From link “ On Monday, the prime minister announced a £150m package of measures to tackle the small boat crisis, arguing that addressing the issue would be a “victory for humanity” that would help to save “countless lives”” Is Starmer not telling us how many illegal immigrants are dying in the channel or is this more bullshit rhetoric?

Perhaps it might help Zany to look at somewhere quite close to home, the proposed new town at Northstowe near Cambridge. According to the official blurb that development will end up requiring 540 hectares of land for 10,000 houses and 26,000 people.
Now all we need to know is how much arable land or grey land is actually available and how many people will need housing, assuming no more arrive and that ethnic birthrates fall below replacement levels. Dodgy assumptions but let's proceed on that basis anyway.
Over to you Zany.

Release 1% of arable land or grey land and its enough to build houses for everyone in this country who wants oneAre you able to show how you reached this conclusion? With actual verifiable figures that is. Its maths. 11% of England is built on providing homes for 70,000,000 people. We need about extra homes for about 700,000 who struggle to buy one because of shortages If 11% serves 70,000,000 then 1% serves 7,700,000. You could argue infrastructure is further behind but you're still only looking at another 1.3% built on. You might argue that the 700,000 figure is too low, if so insert your own figure and do the same sum. You might argue we are bringing another 500,000 people in every year, but my argument is about those already living here and I have stated I want immigration stopped or at least reduced to a trickle, so they are not in this sum.

Don’t forget that a huge swathe of land is being put by to use as solar farms . There are many thousand of acres in Breckland Norfolk alone .
