Stephen Flynn will be great leader of the SNP in the HoC. He started off well today - he came across as self assured, no 'stage fright'. His wee dig at Sunak the billionaire was a classic put down of a man who wants to stifle the aspirations of so many workers for a decent pay rise after years of restraint.
2nd in command is one of the best and brightest politicians in the UK. 28 year old Mhairi Black is a force to be reckoned with. See her maiden speech below.
This duo represent the future of the SNP & Scotland. Hopefully one or other will one day overthrow Sturgeon and take the Party back to pushing for Independence instead of focusing on side issues like gender recognition.
For too long many of us former members held on in there trying to get the SNP back on course. It was a futile fight. Now there's a ray of hope

My condolences but you did not vote for Sunak. Neither did anybody. Must be time to get back to the ferry contract. As the Westminster wankers are costing you and me. Some £1 billions worth of PPE that will have to be destroyed. Costing the tax payer another £700,000 a day in storage. |

My god, I take back what I said. It looks as though Flynn will take us no further forward. The latest suggestion put forward by some supporters is that the SNP should 'collapse' Holyrood and force an election. His reaction to that is that this not the time because of the cost of living crisis!!! A few years back it was Brexit, then it was covid, now its the cost of living. The SNP have had a decade to put together a plan for how an independent Scotland would operate, the benefits, the down sides and how these would be addressed, and should now be in a position to present this plan to the electorate.
The fact that they haven't shows that either they are not capable to do it, or they have no intention of leading Scotland into independence.
Your only hope is the Ali Baba Party with Alex Weinstein, but he doesn't seem to be making much progress either.

The fact that they haven't shows that either they are not capable to do it, or they have no intention of leading Scotland into independence. Which it seems I was right. I am no longer a member of the SNP. I partly left because of the lack of movement on Independence, partly because of Gender Recognition. Also in the mix was the fact that too many of the MPs are happy with their lot and are feart of losing their political 'clout' if Scotland becomes Independent. |
