They'll need to remember who they work for (us, the taxpayers).

Its not the case Vinny, Labour has abused tax payers for generations, they dont care, and in horrendous ways.
And taxpayers then vote red. Again.

They'll need to remember who they work for (us, the taxpayers). I can see first of all they have a plan, which is what the Tories never had. It's obviously going to cost us in the short term, but may fix the problems long term. Like you may think settling pay claims of the NHS was an expensive thing, but it was the price of peace. You need peace before you have any chance of fixing it, i.e. you need the cooperation of the people who work in it. You get the idea. You lose some tax money short term, but that buys you a permanent fix, so at some point your investment will pay off.
So economy-wise Labour might do it. What concerns me is this creeping wokery. Starmer is a total feakin' fruitcake on these matters.

Starmer is a total feakin' fruitcake on these matters. Yes indeed, they do have a plan. The problem is prior to the election they never mentioned it and there's nothing about it their manifesto because not even Labour voters would have been stupid enough to vote for this: 1) Accepting £hundreds of thousands in freebies 2) Giving away sovereign British territory 3) Giving £11,6 billion to Africa to 'help fight climate change' (Virtue signalling) 4) Scrapping old age pensioners winter fuel payments 5) Releasing thousands of criminals from prison 6) Announcing an amnesty for 60,000 illegals 7) Cosying up to the EU, etc etc... You mention the economy. According to the ONS government borrowing is at its highest since the pandemic as a direct result of paying for public sector pay rises, and lets not forget we havent had the much dreaded budget yet which is widely predicted to be a tax grab. This government are the most unpopular government in living memory for a reason; they're a bunch of incompetent champagne socialists.

They'll need to remember who they work for (us, the taxpayers). No - they work for the Unions, Public Sector employees and those on welfare...

1) Same shit as the Tories but less money ripped.
2) Americans ordered it. Same would have happened under Tories. 3) Sounds like a pisstake to me. Probably wouldn't happen under Tories.
4) Not quite as bad as it seems. Pensioners were gold plated under Tories with the triple lock. Everyone else got an inflation hit to their pay. Besides it was done to counteract high fuel prices and oil has dropped in value now.
5) It had to happen, and the Tories would have had to do exactly the same. It's their fault so many are banged up in the first place.
6) Totally unforgivable. This one pisses me off more than all the others.
7) Not a bad idea as it stands. Tories were simply hostile towards them which put their backs up. We do need to do business with the EU so we must establish respectful communications. Starmer has promised no to backtrack on the main issues like Customs union, single market, but what I think he is trying to do is work out how to ease trade congestion. This will help business. The EU needs us as we need them. the more bilateral trade the better off both sides will be, so win-win cooperation is the kind we need. We also need to sort out international science projects. The Tories really fucked that up leaving researchers in the lurch.
So all in all not as scary as the Daily Mail would have you believe.
It really splits into two issues: Economy and immigration. What Starmer is doing economy wise might work. As for immigration and his woke religion, he is fucked in the head. He will push it over the edge and then Reform will gain many seats.
ieve.

You really would have to be the eternal optimist to imagine this governments economic policy will work, particularly since the shadow of the budget is hanging over the economy like the Grim Reapers scythe.

You really would have to be the eternal optimist to imagine this governments economic policy will work, particularly since the shadow of the budget is hanging over the economy like the Grim Reapers scythe. Yes but the thing is the Tories also fucked it up so on the plus side, it has a low base to grow from. There is more room for improvement. Some of their ideas are ideas I've suggested, so I can't really argue with them. Put it this way, there is a chance at the end of their 5 years the economy will be better than how they found it, and if they manage to do this, then chances are they will serve a second term. That's the prize for them and the challenge is to actually get it right, since Labour are well known for bad economics, so if they proved themselves on this it would be enough to say we are a better choice than "failed Tories" as they like ot call them. I mean if Badenough gets in then the Tories are fucked. She's a bloody loopy brain. I know she tries to hide it, but it's obvious to me.
Anyway, I'm just cautious at the moment to cast Labour's economic plan a failure. We have not seen enough to judge. The economy right now is a result of Rishi's handiwork. 0.1% real growth in 2023. Russia grew at 36X us and they are in a war.

"Growth" isn't net GDP, the biggest economic growth in Russia is national debt. Their national debt is soaring. Kemi Badenoch is not bad.
Putin is abysmal.
Why do you have a thing for dictators?
The Baron I remember was a techie who made his own phone posted the method and supported independence without free trade, because imports are bad for local jobs. You are nothing like that.
Who are you and what have you done with BaronVonLotsov?
