Blair/Brown left the country bankrupt and the Tories had to pick up the pieces, Starmer will do exactly the same, it's in their DNA. The INTERNATIONAL FINANCIAL MELTDOWN left the country bankrupt. So once again a Rightist uses a lie to attack Labour. Not unusual though because such is expected from the 'Dark Legend' DNA that appears to influence so many Rightist comments. The G-20 decided how to pick up the pieces i.e. austerity. And austerity (paid for by the public) reduced the deficit to such an extent that the purse strings were opened in 2019. During the past five years the Tories have had to deal with a Pandemic Covid, the Ukraine war to name two, given these two major factors which most other countries including the G7 their economies went in to meltdown.
The Tories handed Labour a healthy economy ..
"The UK was the fastest-growing economy among the G7 in the first half of this year, which could be attributed to 'catch-up' effects after experiencing a shallow technical recession last year".
Starmer/Labour are going to destroy that legacy, and now turn what was a steady economy into a total disaster, undoing all the good work the Tories had done in overcoming pandemics and wars, I don't even want to think what the state of this country would be in if we were still EU members and a Labour government during the Pandemic.

Nigel Farage blasts 'completely nuts' plan to import fuel from bitter UK enemy....... The Labour infetation has reportedly set out a plan that could see the UK import and burn biomass from the likes of North Korea. The bizarre plan, first published during the Rishi Sunak government and now adopted by Labour, is part of the climate race to Nut Zero. A strategy document laid out how burning biomass could play a "significant role" in decarbonising all sectors of the economy in the years leading up to 2050.....
Biomass is a clean efficient energy source, if handled correctly.

Even you can fact check that.

The last 14 years has seen more quarters in negative growth than there were during the world wide recession of 2008-2009, growth in the UK has been piss poor, even before the Pandemic ever hit we almost slid into recession.
In 2010 George Osborne warned Parliament that if we did not follow his policies, we would end up in a situation similar to Greece, and in 2013 the UK Credit Rating was cut BECAUSE OF HIS POLICIES.
Any Economist worth their salt will tell you that the best way to reduce debt is by growth
Cut public spending on the scale that George Osborne cut public spending, and you get a "Ripple Effect", the fall in economic activity works its way right through the private sector, those that supply curtains to hospitals and factories which makes books for schools, paint manufacturers that sell to councils.
We recognise that not everything can be blamed on the Tories, the pandemic is partly to blame, except that the NHS was deteriorating BEFORE the pandemic and waiting lists were rising.
THere is no positives worthy of note to point to after the last 14 years, no major achievements, we cannot even say we are better off.
2024 was the year the electote decided to try something different, but with the way things are, its going to be tough to repair the deficit, repair public services and make us better off.

2024 was the year the electote decided to try something different, 80% of the uk electorate did not vote for your Labour Party , so dont try and imply you have the majority behind you. You dont. Of the few 20% who did vote for you , its looks like a large chunk are having buyers remorse with the massive fall in ratings for starmer and his cronies in power. Apart from attacking pensioners , can you tell me so far what starmer has done that is different?

its going to be tough to repair the deficit, repair public services and make us better off. Starmer and reeve claim there is a 22 billion black hole , but as one caller suggested on LBC , so far he has spent 68.5 billion in his first hundred days in power. We have had sleaze scandal cronyism and incompetence. stealing 1.4 billion from old age pensioners winter fuel allowance. 22 billion spent on carbon capture and storage. 11.6 billion on foreign aid. 8.5 billion on gb energy. 7.5 billion on a wealth fund. 3.6 billion to Ukraine. etc etc etc. Labours last foray in power in both scotland and england , and their excessive use of incompetent and costly PFI contracts are a large part of the reason the public sector is in such a mess across the uk. Your former leader Jeremy Corbyn said famously that labour should apologise and take responsibility for the absolute mess they left behind using PFI deals under blair and brown. www.theguardian.com/society/2015/aug/26/labour-has-duty-to-resolve-mess-of-hospital-pfi-deals-says-jeremy-corbynx.com/alexharmstrong

On top of that , we currently have a labour chancellor who cant fill out a tax return for herself , and claimed expenses for help in doing so , while the rest of us mere mortals have to either do them ourselves, or pay for an accountant out of our own pockets.

His next 100 if he makes it will be the finish of him. the longer he stays in power , hopefully the more he damages labour . What’s the best thing Labour have done so far?
43% nothing yet or only negative, including 22% of Labour voters.
It’s really not going well.
