The thing is repealing the useless ECHR would be a very lengthy and time consuming process and naturally outraged lefties would be, outraged. If we had a government that put British people first they wouldn't have to repeal the ECHER. They would simply ignore it, as the German and French governments do. It's not necessary to exit the ECvHR, repealing the Human Rights Act will put the UK on the same footing as other countries which routinely ignore rulings by the ECtHR. I agree, either or. Repealing Blairs HRA would indeed put us on the same footing as EU states who routinely ignore the ECtHR and the ECHR. Such a move is certainly not going to happen under this government, and tbh I doubt it would happen under a future Jenrick government. |
