It seems it understandable why Labour plans for 'growth' are so crap - not a single member of the cabinet has any real-world business experience. None of them have ever run or managed a successful private enterprise. Hence the 'tax our way to success' nonsense we see now. The key to success as stated many times by this government, is not by taxation, but by growth.
The taxation part of the equasion is partly due to the huge deficit left by the previous government, whereby the income going into the Treasury does not match the spending going out. Therefore a combination of reductions in some spending + increases in revenue is necessary, and it would have been necessary no matter which party had won the election. I guess some people do not understand primary school sums. So you are going to get growth by a tax on jobs....are you serious? When Sunak proposed increasing NI on employers just 2 years ago this is what Reeves said: “To get out of Rishi Sunak’s high-tax, low-growth trap we need to boost British businesses and opportunities for employees – not place yet another burden on them both.”As I said - totally out of her depth...

Umpopular measures already announced to reign in spending has included removing the Winter Fuel Payments for most pensioners, and there is more unpopular announcements to come, probably to include raising CGT, possibly to raise employers NI contributions. An alternative way to reign in spending would be to do it the Tory way, more cuts to public services, but this is a LABOUR government, and they avoid doing that. Do you think the Home Office budget could be cut further ?, what has that done to our prisons. ? I do not want to see employers pay more in NI contributions, I would have prefered that pensioners could keep their Winter Fuel Payments, even the comfortable, well off and rich ones that dont need it. What are the alternatives to closing down the deficit and repairing all the damage to prisons, the NHS and other public services. How can it be done without hurting anyone ?

Well the alternative to a tax increase that, as Rachel Reeves points out would place another burden on business, is to reduce Public Spending.
For example - the planning application alone for the Lower Thames Crossing cost £300 Million. That is more than it cost Norway to build the world's longest road tunnel.
If the government stopped wasting money it would not need to raise taxes.

Listening to Reeves, Raynor, Lammy and Starmer I must agree with you.
This shower of moronic left wing imbeciles will bankrupt business, the State, the citizens and financial institutions and then blame the Tories, Donald Trump and pensioners. If you support this shower you must be someone who doesn't own your own house, doesn't have a job, savings, pensions or is bereft of original thought.
