well TBF handy the French managed to. P&O are or were at the time were registered in Dubai hence difficult to take to task under UK Law , so basically they got away with it what the French did differently I don't know Well they told them what they would pay their employees and conditions and if they didn’t comply their ships would not be allowed to dock.

“ Two houses Rayner ‘ is beefing up the employment laws . Where were the lefties when the UK was invaded by EU migrants who were quite happy to ignore them ? All of the lefties who spouted the lie that migrants came here do the jobs ( ie work under shit conditions and cheap) we wouldn’t do should be against this right ? They certainly didn’t support the natives who were driven out by itinerant, zero hour, young agency workers who would undercut and undermine the Brits . “In total there will be 28 employment reforms in the Employment Rights Bill, including improving access to sick pay and providing “day one” protection from unfair dismissal. Other measures include a ban on “exploitative” zero hours contracts and a tightening of rules around “fire and rehire” practices. Under the package, the current two-year qualifying period for protection from unfair dismissal will be replaced with a day one protection, extending coverage to nine million people who have been with their employer for less than two years.” inews.co.uk/news/politics/workers-flexible-working-rights-day-one-rayner-law-3316353?srsltid=AfmBOoppYH8HzT_ydIonbqoRyDmhfzk58Jl96yL6-K3NrNvXnrmn8uk3I think employees now are allowed flexible hours plus being encouraged to WFH...

If I recall correctly that was considered in the UK , then they realised it would badly effect all the Ferry suppliers based in and around the UK Ports fuel etc plus of course the imports and exports etc into and out of our Ports, the French would have had the same problem P&O no longer fly in cheap Labour to crew their Ships they state it is now too expensive, the reason they claim they did do it was to completely reorganise their operations to make it more cost effective to stay in business.

P&O were trying to recover their losses made during the pandemic too quickly and the crews they had then paid the brunt....

Well your comment is sheer pathetic. Unless you can tell me what is wrong I will assume you are too stupid to say.

This week’s new employment legislation includes 28 new measures that will make it harder to employ and hamper Britain’s already lacklustre economic growth. The Federation of Small Businesses have warned that these measures are “clumsy, chaotic, and poorly planned.”
Small businesses, with their lower profit margins and smaller scale, will find it challenging to comply with the avalanche of additional red tape. But ultimately, we will all pay the price. The evidence is clear that the new rights to flexible work, paternity, and parental and bereavement leave from day one, however well-meaning, will impose significant costs on businesses that will have to be passed along in lower pay and even higher prices.
The day-one access to unfair dismissal protection could have dire consequences. With this change, many businesses could choose not to hire new staff, fearing the potential for employment tribunals if things do not work out.

Yes I do copy and paste well, the only effort I have to contend with is deciphering your ramblings but as they say crap happens and often typed

Yes I do copy and paste well, the only effort I have to contend with is deciphering your ramblings but as they say crap happens and often typed I don't know why you bother. I can read the papers without your help and if you copy and paste for people to comment, why insult them when they do.
