You are unaware of the social and economic benefits that she brought and fail to discuss those.
Social Damage: She closed down or reduced thousands of small businesses as she gradually pushed up the number of people out of work to nearly four million. Economic Damage: She privatised Natural Gas and North Sea Oli meaning a continuing financial loss to the economy, added to every year, and estimated to be in the £Billions so far. The one thing I give her credit for is in making 'Wild Cat' strikes illegal. |

You post your opinion/experience concerning yourself, ignoring the numbers with no jobs and the the knock on economic effects on millions of families and claim I'm being subjective LOL By 1990 when Thatcher was leaving office there were such a shortage of engineering jobs that I decided to retrain into a professional position. My salary tripled with my first job, my working conditions improved and the level of respect for what I was doing went off the scale. So even though I sampled Thatcher's callousness in the 1980s, I guess I do owe her some sort of back handed thanks LOL |
