More cases of diphtheria among illegals were reported in England last week, according to the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA). The total number of cases for the year so far now stands at 57, figures published on Tuesday show. It comes after there were reports of fresh cases of diphtheria being found at the Manston migrant processing centre in Kent.
The UKHSA said seven cases of diphtheria among asylum seekers were reported between November 28 and December 4. In the previous week – from November 21 to November 27 – the total was 50 after five cases were reported.
Some 44 of the cases have been recorded in the South East, as well as fewer than five in each of the following areas: London; West Midlands, South West, North East and the North West, the latest report said. No breakdown by county has been provided. www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/suella-braverman-robert-jenrick-england-home-secretary-south-west-b1045257.htmlDiphtheria is a highly contagious life threatening disease that thanks to an immunisation programme in the 1940's has been almost unknow in this country for more than 70 years. However, apart from the £7 billion (current) annual bill for illegals, they also bring an outbreak of diphtheria, and lets face it, who knows what else. But I'm not criticising, perish the thought some outraged lefty should call me a racist.

Ok so I looked it up obviously I was inoculated in the late 50s because literally thousands of UK residents were catching it and dying.
I’ve absolutely no recollection now if the kids got jabbed for it 36 and 32 years ago respectively, they did have quite a few, I just don’t know.
If the NHS website is to be believed my grand daughter should have had a six-in-one jab as a baby that included it.
Slightly concerning is the fact that the NHS page says anyone travelling to a country known for it should get a booster if they have not had one in the last ten years. If immigrants are bringing it in then maybe it’s time to launch a booster campaign before we get a repeat of the crap COVID caused because that only needed half a dozen or so to get in here to cause utter bloody havoc.
I’ve long ago lost my vaccination card I kept from my medical research and later scuba diving days so I’ve no idea what I’ve been jabbed with recently.
It’s a concern too me because my wife has to deal with all sorts in the immigration tribunal down the road.

Actually, I have no idea whether I've ever had a diphtheria jab, I've had some pretty exotic jabs, bubonic plague, anthrax, rabies, cholera, typhoid Christ knows what else, I'm pretty sure hepatitis was in there somewhere, but they were in adult life, even so, I cant remember whether diphtheria was in there somewhere. I suppose I may have had it as a child, cant remember. I remember having the polio vaccine, the sugar cube.

I remember when I was about 14 at school having the sugar cube also a Booster jab for something I don't know what. But you first had a test prick what left a circle impression on your wrist then after you had the booster injection in your arm ive still got its mark today Talking about infections RSV influenza is going around some children in this country has died with it and its pandemic in America.

Just googled it, the BCG (TB) was introduced in 1953, discontinued in 2005. So I guess I must have had it at school. I suspect with all the exotic criminals the government are allowing into the country these days mass vaccinations will once more become commonplace in schools. I believe diphtheria, not seen for 70 years in this country, is on the rise.

Being a child of the 40's I remember all sorts of inoculations in the 50's TB Polio yes that was given on the sugar lump, Diphtheria, Measles, Mumps Rubella etc due to the mass vaccinations saved many by all account, one vaccination for Diphtheria apparently protects you for life, I felt like a dartboard back then.
TB Polio and Diphtheria back then were beaten in the UK, however as we travel more, and we have an influx of people from around the world from different countries where TB etc may still be common there is a risk of catching TB etc
I watch a programme a couple of months ago which was fascinating can't remember what it was called, it showed that Scientists have monitoring stations in the Sewer Systems across the country, they can find minute traces of Covid, and other Viruses etc and actually trace it back to where it came from down to a small area even a small village.
Earlier this year they identified a strain of Polio in northwest London in the effluent, therefore parents in that area have been offered medication to protect their children just in case

I believe diphtheria, not seen for 70 years in this country, is on the rise. I had a diphtheria jab during the early panic that soldiers would bring the problem back from Europe during the war. I suspect that as a percentage of the population who think that the mass influx of migrants into the UK is ok, we are referring to a small minority. The problem appears to be there is no way to stop or control the migrants. The sooner a workable answer is found, the better it will be for the UK.

The sugar cube was live polio. The stamp on the wrist was tuberculosis, my wife was reactive to it because her grandfather had the disease so she didnt need the jab. Like diphtheria, both these were killers and maimers in my childhood with everyone knowing at least one person struck down by one of the two. Two more nasty diseases my parents went to their graves thinking the UK had seen the back of.

Most medics, lab guys, war journalists and serving forces would have broadly similar vaccine cards. The hepatitis ones always raised eyes at immigration control desks.

It is a strange world whereby the government can effectively lock up its own citizens so that they do not spread an unpleasant, but low level fatality, disease yet cannot stop non citizens arriving illegally bringing with them serious health hazards to the rest of the population, nor can they effectively quarantine the influx to isolate those health hazards. There is something rotten in the state...

A 'research biochemist', that's not a bad job title to have on your CV. What did you study at university? Let me guess: Biology & chemistry? I was a graduate of the university with a single honours degree in biochemistry paid by the university to carry out three years postgraduate research at the university as a research assistant, while also working in the university hospital as a medical biochemist. How would you put that in less than twenty words on your CV ?
