Once upon a time, Phil Shiner was the superstar Left-wing lawyer feted by civil rights groups Liberty and Justice. After all, he was the man daring to accuse members of the British armed forces of the murder and physical abuse of hundreds of Iraqi civilians during the Second Gulf War. Both Liberty and Justice named him as their lawyer of the year in 2004.
But now, in the space of just a few short years, 67-year-old Shiner has been declared bankrupt and disbarred from the legal profession. The accusations against British troops were false, and Shiner illegally pocketed millions of pounds of taxpayers’ money pursuing them.
He has now pleaded guilty to three counts of fraud relating to applications made in 2007 for public funding for legal action against the Ministry of Defence. When he is sentenced in December, he faces up to 10 years in prison. Suffice to say, few will shed a tear for a man who is seen by many as the embodiment of the arrogant, corrupt, grasping lawyer.
Good he smeared many of our brave Service Personnel

There were serious war crimes committed by US and Brits over in Iraq, but it was not the troops who made those decisions. It's to do with mass civilian bombings. One region in particular (forget the name) is considered to be a prima facie case of war crimes, but that is never talked about on the BBC. Instead we always go for the small time wrong'un. It makes the proles think any talk of war crimes in Iraq are bogus. It's a typical BBC sleight of hand.
Also no I don't have the link for the above because I wrote it all myself from my own mind. It's a rare skill on today's social media. We communicate via BBC/Daily Mail links.

Good he smeared many of our brave Service Personnel I remember lefties cheering Shiner from the rooftops for going after British troops who he claimed tortured Iraqi civilians. It then was discovered that his company 'Public Interest Lawyers' paid Iraqis to tell lies, they were coached word for word what to write in statements and what to say under oath. Shiner may be a bankrupt now, but he lost nothing. Before he declared bankruptcy he put everything he owned in his wifes name, the courts were powerless to retrieve a penny from him. I sincerely hope this left wing low life when sentenced in December get's the full ten years, he deserves a damned sight longer.

And while doing time he should be handing assets and money back he illegally pocketed from the taxpayer.. Runts like him were always on a gravy train.

What could go wrong? Maybe the judge will give him a suspended sentence on 2nd December, like a dressing down not to do it again.
